Good game today and nice to see Spurs not having to hang on for the final minutes of a game.

Lots of positives all well covered on here. Loved the control by Eriksen at the corner flag. The pressing to win the ball back in the first half which led to Barton committing a foul. The 48 pass build up to the Chadli goal which deserves to be shown over and over again. Ade running 50 yards to close down the keeper. Soldado's quick thinking on the thrown in. Things that are developed and honed on the training pitch.

Concerns:
The lack of concentration on the corners - should have conceded at the end.
The ball over the top which caught the back four out. Has happened a few times in the three games and was an issue last year.
Dier will need to learn how to defend in the RB position, so he does not get done down the line. Can't keep replying on his pace to recover.
Not scoring more than four, could have been less selfish and done a Wigan on them. May need the GD at the end of the season.
Some of the sloppy passing - need to keep the ball when we work hard to win it back. This will improve with games.

All in all it was great to win 4-0 and have to struggle to find fault with the players, team or the manager.

I really want to see some of the players kick on for the next few games.

Especially Chadli. He has all the attributes, it's the mental side of things I've questioned.

If he gets minutes Thursday or he starts against Liverlol I want him to go out there with the determination to secure a starting spot.

Lets get some consistency with these performances.

We have no new concerns compared to last season. And we do have less!
In my world that is progress, and I'm very happy with that!

Not expecting top 4 already this season, but maybe we Could be in the mix - playing entertaining football(y)

You know, I enjoyed the punditry on MOTD2, because they were very true.

Had Barcelona scored our goal, and Messi produced the turn of pace to glide past two or three players, everyone would be saying what a great goal it was.

Obviously our team isn't Barcalona standard, and Lamela isn't at Messi's level (yet) but it's great to see so much progress and well... end product from our team. Today was a good day. Liverpool will be a very real test. Limassol should be an under-21 fixture (almost).

Thought Chappers and Lennon were impartial, but Les seemed to have his own agenda, and was a bit underhand with his comments.

Thought the whole atmosphere at the Lane was much better today than at any point during the last two seasons. The attitude of the players generated the atmosphere. You could see the players putting a shift in from the first minute, which really got the crowd going.

Also heard a couple of new songs; anybody who was in the park lane will probably have the next few words still stuck in their head:

'when I was just a little boy, my mummy gave me a brand new toy
An arsenal fan'... Etc.

Also like the song for Lamela (to the tune of Crowded House's: Take The Weather') :

'Everywhere you go, always take Lamela with you'

All in all, everybody seemed in a much more positive mood, even before we scored. Looking forward to having the drummer back on Thursday'.

We are now top of the table, and if Shitty draws with Liverpool or if either of them win by 1 goal, we'll keep our place for at least a week.

Finally got to see the first half and I have to say that is the best we have played for a few years. We played some lovely stuff under Harry but the real difference with today's performance was the aggression and pressing of the ball. Lamela, as is always the case to be fair to him, presses like a lunatic and today the others were following his example. We never gave them a moment's peace and it was so difficult for them to get over the halfway line that we just strangled the life out of them.

Yes they were poor, but that was the kind of performance that AVB just could not deliver. Everybody was excellent and I'm more than prepared to forgive a few mistakes when the players are really trying to make things happen.

Liverpool will be a far harder test next week but If we press and work like we did today the result will be less significant because it will be easier to see what we are trying to achieve. They will be worried have no doubts about that, and so they should be.

Very promising.

It was a superb performance! Brilliant.
Credit also to our Centre halves and our defensive MFers, they ran the show.

The real test will be against the Scouse, that result will determine whether we are at a higher level with possibilities or it could be a reality check.

We must keep calm now, yes enjoy this massive performance, but stay down to earth.

Poch is here for a long time and we will only get better, but if we would Get 5th or 6th this season that would be good - considering it's his first season..
Yes...a very enjoyable win. Great attitude and team work against two sides (WHU & QPR) we should beat which in the past we may have thrown away.
We will see our real strength and progress in the next two games!
Really please so far...

Did anybody notice towards the end of the match, possibly in the last 10 minutes or so, Capoule's tongue was hanging out of his mouth. He was totally knackered.
