Soldado looks promising.

Paulinho looked pretty good. Nothing really caught the eye today.

Chadli had some good touches but not much end product.

Coming back from the game now.

1st half was very good. Chadli,Paulinho and Soldado showed glimpses of high class quality where you know they will consistently bring in the premierleague.

Loved Soldados movement and clever touches. He is going to be huge for us you can tell straight away. I have no doubts about him whatsoever.

Chadli was very expressive 1st half was excellent. Very comfortable on the ball and showed plenty of class.

Paulinho was industrious and clicked well with dembele and lennon, sprayed passes and kept it simple, of course "scored" for us too lol i think he will be the one that will be like sandro, will eventually become a huge player for us.

2nd half the subs in my opinion didnt help, completely stopped the flow of the game imo. And everyone really was playing on 2nd gear. Oh and dembele was my MOTM.. Ran the midfield and played with such ease. This season i can feel he will be big for us.

Nothing to worry about at all. People who are worrying over a friendly game just relax please.

Cant wait for the league next week i think we will run palace riot.

And remember we have Bale,Verts, Capoue and hopefully a new LB all back in the squad.

And a HUGE plus with Sandro and Kaboul back. Like 2 new signings. Brilliant.

Keep calm and COYS!!!

Capoue was at the Lane too today, which is lovely. A photo of him on twitter.

We still need someone to unlock the defensive, poorer sides. I really hope Mr Bale stays.

That lad who presented looks like someone who got dragged out of Tesco's as he was stacking shelves and shoved into a suit and in front of a camera.

What did we learn today? Soldado is class, Paulinho looks like he might take a little time to adapt though will be a superb signing I am sure, Chadli looks ok. Walker looked good going forward, Though still vulnerable defensively and Sig was poor almost to the point of obsolete!! Nice to see both Kabs and Sandro get game time. Don't want to mention Rose, He has got a lot of work to do to command a starting berth, Seems both our fullbacks need a fair bit of defensive work! With that said I can't judge them on pre-season friendlies.

The one thing I really learned today was that Bale must stay. Don't need to mention Defoe do I? Nah didn't think so!!

Sorry but gotta disagree with you there. I thought Sigurdsson was actually pretty decent today and was looking like the player we thought he was when we bought him - mostly because he was actually played in his proper position today.
-Paulinho linked up with Dembele and the two left hand players really well today and showed a bit of Brazilian flair, something we've definitely been missing.
-Soldado was obviously class, and although it wasn't entirely Defoe's fault as all the subs pretty much killed the game, the difference between Soldado and Defoe was quite shocking.
-Walker was excellent today I thought too and I reckon he'll be back to his best this season, and Rose though not great defensively today was a real threat going forward.
-Other mention goes to Chadli who was strong on the ball and did a few nice turns and runs to get into good positions but will hopefully show a bit of a better end product during the season.

Despite the result, very promising, and there is of course a certain Mr Bale still to add to that line up!

p.s. great to Kaboul and Beast back!

Love Siggy in the hole

No I will not rephrase that.

He has so much ability on the ball. Got himself into some great positions today... he just needs to build his confidence up and have a few shots. He could be a huge player for us.

Just three thoughts:

1. KABOUL!
2. SANDRO!
3. I hope Danny Rose can gain some savvy. He reminds me right now of Walker when he's got his stupid hat on. He seemed at his best when everything was instinctive and if he had any time at all to think, it all went wonky.
3a. I really enjoyed some of the one touch passing and players flooding the box. More of that please!

Starting eleven plus 3-4 others are at the level we need if you substitute Verts for Friers, but after that I think that we are lacking in depth. Good to see Sandro and Kaboul back, but can see why we need Capoue and others brought in.

I felt emotional seeing Kaboul and then Sandro take to the field. Until that point we looked vulnerable at the back to set pieces. I'm not convinced about zonal marking...Don't know about anyone else?

As good as Soldado looks will he be wasted if we don't at least keep Bale? I just can't see where his supply is gonna come from? We REALLY don't have a creative player that can help us utilise him really, Even Bale won't really give us that. For all our spending what have we really done to the squad except make it a bloody nightmare for teams that come up against our midfield (Of which it has to be said is gonna be immense)?

Of course that could change if we sign pjanic but I feel greedy asking for another midfielder and of course we still have Holtby to come back and he has a lot to offer I think. Gylfi on the other hand I don't know where to start with him, Thought the lad looked class at Swansea, There again I thought the same about Caulker too, Perhaps it is the Spurs syndrome?
