No one is paying 50m for Dele in COVID times.

Definitely 18 months ago, but not now.
PSG spent £45m on Icardi last summer I believe.

In difficult financial times many will watch their cashflow more but the mega rich will still spend.

Dele to PSG will depend much on how much Poch wants him.

Even without COVID-19
Noone’s paying £50m for Dele because he hasn’t done anything for 18months.
He’s not even getting on the bench for a game vs Sheffield right now.

Surely inter still owe us a bit of cash for Eriksen. I wonder what kind of deal could be done?

It might well be the case that Inter still owe us some Eriksen cash. But the way most deals are structured, I'd suggest we in turn have already financially committed in bringing in his replacement last summer. No doubt we too owe somebody else money, kind of dispelling the notion that we have extra cash.

Of course, not suggesting that you think anything different, and the fact that Inter may owe us money could make a deal easier.

But on a few occasions I've seen posts regarding various transfers where people say X,Y or Z owe us cash for a player, totally ignoring the fact that we in turn owe X,Y or Z ourselves.

Surely if Alli goes this window it'll be a loan, between him not playing and the pandemic his value must be the lowest it's been since his breakthrough season for us.
It works both ways... players we’re looking to bring in will also be at their lowest value.

Don't know how much say the managers have in the transfers there.

Just posted this in the Dele thread:
Dragon1 on COYS last few minutes:
Regarding dele it’s all in Daniels court

dele does not want to be in the bench and Jose does not fancy him .

if we sell has to be over 50 , loan is an option as if Jose does not make top 4 or win something Jose may not be around long and dele is still a top player so we would probably like to keep him , it’s a difficult decision

Red part is the best ITK i've heard in a long time!!!!

True. But you'd like to think if a new manager said he really wanted a player who is available then they'd make an offer.

Yeah sure, but depending on the financials they might not push for it. Dele Alli is not a very sexy name atm.

I think it will always be a sexy name for Poch. He know's what he's capable of and would be confident of getting the best from him.

Very much doubt this would happen for so many reasons but he’d be quality!

Sounds like Nico's agent is attempting to land him a new contract. He's arguably been Inter's best and most important player this season.

I'm sure nearly every elite club in Europe has asked about him but even if Inter were to be forced to sell players he'd be one of the last on their list to sell.

BRING THE INGS!

Serious deal to be made here with Ings having a year left on his contract this summer, just like Hojbjerg last summer.

There’s few players I’d rather see us sign than Danny Ings. Him, Kane and Son in the same team would be absolutely lethal — 3 top finishers.

How would he be squeezed into the team? We'd have to play two strikers. Ings is not a 10, and neither is Kane. The thing that makes Harry special is the ability to drop into space. But if that's what defenses know he's going to do, it's a lot easier to counteract. A team of

That's not happening. One look at how our backup is being used now tells you that. Not a chance Ings settles for being a backup somewhere at this stage of his career.

Somehow my last post got cut off. Here's what I meant to add:

A team like the below looks good, but I'd have serious doubts about the center of midfield.

Ings Kane
Son Ndombele Hojbjerg RM
Reguilon Dier Toby Serge

I suppose you could play a 4 3 3, but one of Ings or Kane would severely hurt the team due to team speed and/or defensive workrate.

In short, there's no way Ings comes here unless Harry leaves. .

I disagree. If we were to sign a striker of Ings’ caliber, I think we’d see him and Kane play in the same team quite frequently. I know we’re yet to see Kane and Vini play in the same team much (even though many of us would like to) but I feel this might be a personnel issue with Mourinho not rating Vini higher than our other forward options at the moment.

As we all know Kane has been dropping in this season and Ings could easily play off Kane as well as interchange with him throughout the match.

Take the Sheffield United match as an example where we had the forwards play quite narrow. It’s not hard to imagine Ings slotting into Bergwijn’s role (especially with Ings being known to have a good work rate):

Play him in CM and good things will happen. Also wanted to see Bergwijn in AMC role since preseason.

Quotes from Mourinho on signing a striker over the summer:

“If the striker is afraid to come to Tottenham and he is afraid of competition then I don’t want him,” Mourinho said. “All the other top clubs have many options as centre-forwards and this question doesn’t appear.”

"A squad is a squad. A striker can play with Harry Kane. A striker that comes here is not to be feeling that he is just in a back-up situation."

“A striker that can give us more than we have and that isn't just to support us but to play with Harry."

Mourinho post-Sheffield United about top players:

“A top player plays in every position, and it's not a problem for a top player. Top players they play in every position, top players they don't get excuses about the system, the position, the way the team plays. Top players they play in every team, in every system, with every coach.”

Perfect. Ings to shore up the right back position so.
