True the aussies do have a few oldies going around......Shinji Ono, Emile Heskey and Alessandro Del Piero. The first and last were legends in their countries....as was Heskey representing the standard of the England forward line across a decade :(

I can't see the logic in signing a young unproven EPL player like Tom Ince when we are pushing for a Champions League spot.
£10m for a player that won't start ahead of Bale or Lennon is madness when we seriously need another creative player to compliment Dembele....

Ince is obviously not going to cost £10m. The main reason why so many clubs are into him right now is because his contract is close to expiring. He will cost a lot less.

I haven't seen much in his general play that suggests anything amazing but his goalscoring record is absolutely superb and his assist record is also very very good. Probably not what we need but he'll be a decent player for someone for sure, either as a squad player for a top club or as a first teamer for a mid-level one.

I think he'll be better than Tow

As has been said, Pjanic and Aubemeyang would be two great signings for us with our financial constraints.

If all can get back healthy...

------------------------ Lloris --------------------------
Walker ---- Kaboul ------- Vertonghen ----- BAE
Dembele ------------Sandro----------------- Pjanic
Aubameyang -------- Ade ----------------------Bale

Looks like a good 4-3-3 to me. Goals from the wide players, good possession in midfield. Pjanic can play the more forward of the midfielders with Dembele being the link from midfield/defense to attack. Ade with the hold-up play. That'd be a thing of beauty and it's completely feasible and not some wild dream of huge transfer additions.

3 Players: Aubameyang, Felipe Anderson, and Keisuke Honda.

Aubameyang and Honda can fill starting roles now (RW/CF and Midfield in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1) and Anderson has that look about him that he could turn into something very special very soon. We'd have to get Aubameyang and Anderson now while the getting is good (and by that I mean the shitheads Chelsea/Man Utd/Man City really don't have them on their radar).

Agree on that Anderson one, i hear that Big Phil thinks he'll be a big part in 2014.

A decent left sided (mid and left back)squad player would be 26 year old Urby Emanuelson at AC Milan ... and before people say no chance, Galliani has come out and said the club needs to trim the squad in Jan before they can sign any new players.

Definitely a good squad player and you're right, they have far too many midfielders at AC right now.

Emile Heskey, at 34 years of age, has 5 goals in 8 matches in the A-league. That tells us all we need to know about the quality.

HAHA! Brilliant, they must be playing with blindfolds on over there for him to have that hit rate. :D

Does anyone seriously think Levy is going to buy us 3 new players of the quality(though they are realistic) mentioned

It took years for Levy to spend more than £10mill again and even that may have been because other clubs started to sniff around Dembele

We will get one top player this window for me it has to be either Isco or Leandro/another striker and if we are 3rd come jan I see no reason why they wouldnt want to come tbh, Isco may want CL football but he wont play for any team if he leaves in january

I think it is clear we need a top quality player in the centre, so i would imagine Levy will give AVB the budget two buy two players to play across the middle or support up front. circa. £16m for one and circa. £8-10m for the other. He'll probably want us to cash in on Hudd though.

I keep seeing us linked to Massadio Haidara. French U21 player, Age 20, plays for AS Nancy in Ligue 1.

In my opinion, it's very hard to find young LBs before they get expensive, so if we are indeed interested and the fee is reasonable, I think it's definitely worth the chance. Apparently he's got experience as a wide midfielder as well. If we aren't convinced of Rose (although I believe we should be after his performance this season), this young fella looks pretty strong from what I've seen and is also pretty highly regarded from most reports.

Do we think there is any substance to these Eriksen links?

Part of me thinks there could be substance especially if it's between us and Liverpool. He's got his former captain here, we're far superior on the table, and we've also probably got more opportunity for him to start right away.

So, if it's down to us and Liverpool, and the money is right, then yes I think we stand a good chance at signing him.

On the other hand, I think he's a bit of an enigma. Sometimes I watch him and think 'yeah, I want him' then other matches it's more of a 'meh' feeling. 20m is a lot of money so it's hard to imagine giving that up for a guy who doesn't really shine every time he's on the pitch (like a Moutinho/Willian/Isco/Etc.).

I'd be happy if we just signed someone to replace and/or rival Lennon.

I desperately want us to sign either a RW/CF type (Aubameyang, Remy) or a CAM/Winger type (Felipe Anderson, Dries Mertens, Willian, Isco, etc.). Either could provide competition to Lennon and also to other positions that need some push.

One guy I would cream at getting is El Shaarawy; I watch quite a bit of AC Milan and he is absolute quality. His goal ratio is ridiculous this year (playing on the left of a front 3) 12 in 15 and he's only 20. AC are rather imploding in the league and they are in danger of crashing out of the Champions league in the next round... I know they sold Ibra and Thiago Silva but they no longer possess the financial prowess they used to (combined with their stupidly high wage bill with the likes of Pato and Robinho) He could be available for 15 million ish. (that's total guess work as the president of AC seems to be attempting to big him up as one of the world's best; probably going to be looking for a lot more unfortunately)

Would be lovely, but ANY big club would be after him. Literally every club would be going after him. Call me crazy but not much separates him from Neymar, and I actually might like El Shaarawy more.
He is more likeable than Neymar I agree with that; and Italian Serie A is a much more established league than the Brazilian Serie A.

Not to detract from the point but the qualm I have with people loving Neymar is he isn't even massively consistent in his respective league; what says he can do it on the big stage? A few friendlies/WCQ for Brazil doesn't evidence his case very well either.

Will be interested to see what comes of him when he makes his big money move; no doubting he has immense talent mind you.
