Were we seeded first last year? I can't recall but looking down the list of teams in the competition this year its difficult to see us being seeded first or maybe even second!!

Aren't the seedings done on past 5 years European experience, presumably anyone who ahs consistently been in the champs league i.e. Copenhagen, CSKA Moscow will be seeded higher than us?

We should be able to get through the Group Stage now, which is good. The Round of 32 starts in February, so we should be able to get some players in during the January window to help us the rest of the way through.

it's great we're gonna be one of the first seeds - what a climb in just three seasons when we were bottom seeds in our group if I remember correctly

We're one of the top eight seeds. The others are Milan, Valencia, CSKA, Sevilla, Benfica, Schalke and Hamburg.

I also noticed that we're 2nd favourites to win it.

People pick teams like Sevilla, Milan and Valencia as being so strong, but they are more concerned with qualifying for the CL next year and will slip up.

We've got as good a chance as anyone I'd say, f we had Corluka and Pav then I'd say we were deffo one of the favourites

Just looking down the list, the competition looks strong this year. Liege are a 5th seed and after their performances so far, must be a good bet to reach the latter stages. There is potentially a tought draw out there.....can't wait! COYS

surely most of that won't be known till the draw is made - I know some clubs are ruled out (eg for us English clubs?) but aren't there still a lot we could draw? maybe wrong

I hope we do. They're pretty poor these days. So, for that matter, are Ajax. I watched the Ajax-Feyenoord game a week or two back. It was certainly exciting, but the quality of the football was pretty dire.

I read somewhere earlier this morning that Celtic are resigning themselves to the fact they will be looking to drop down from the CL like Rangers did last year. There will be a few more like that as well. To me that is the most annoying thing about the present CL set-up, and I believe it will be continued into the next new "UFA whatever trophy" it is gonna be
