How wasn't the Vidic tackle a red? He only went for Hazard, the ball was far away. It was only intended to cause injury to Hazard. Straight red any day of the week.

The only thing that saved Rafael from a red was that his tackle was aimed away from the player and he only got the ball.

Wasn't last man, wasn't denying a goal scoring opportunity, wasn't two footed, granted he wasn't anywhere near the ball but I just thought a yellow would have sufficed.

But probably considered violent conduct, so a red card.

Moyes hilarious....lol

Didn't think Vidic's was a sending off but didn't see Rafael's on the side line lol

Violent conduct. If M'Biwas tackle on Nasri last week is a red then so is this.

He's losing it. If United don't recruit in a big way they're going to have to rely entirely on Rooney (who doesn't want to be there) and Van Persie (who might not want to be there).

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Think it goes to show that with old red nose and the amount of things that went thier way teams didn't think they could get results against them. Fear factor is gone aswell as the poor summer and they are struggling for it.

Going back to the Suarez incidenct.....

For me it wasn't a penalty. There was some contact, but only caused by momentum. The problem here is that now the FA etc are effectively saying any contact in the box is a foul, yet only the 'keepers seem to be punished for it. Technically any pushing, shoving, shirt pulling is a foul if you go by letter of the law, but when was the last time you saw a penalty given when a corner is about to be taken???

My personal view was that Guzan's momentum carried him into Suarez, but there was no intent to foul him. If that had been anywhere else on the pitch nothing would have been given.
If he was stopping a goal-scoring opportunity, then fair enough. But so many penalties are being given when the ball is going out of play.

Players are now LOOKING for contact, either by changing their own direction or by leaving a foot/leg hanging to get caught.
