New manager at Brom. Maybe the team will be out to impress.

That's the thing, with a new manager it can go 2 ways, either impressive or really crap. Have a feeling we'll see the really crap option but I hope I'm wrong.

Going back to the Suarez incidenct.....

For me it wasn't a penalty. There was some contact, but only caused by momentum. The problem here is that now the FA etc are effectively saying any contact in the box is a foul, yet only the 'keepers seem to be punished for it. Technically any pushing, shoving, shirt pulling is a foul if you go by letter of the law, but when was the last time you saw a penalty given when a corner is about to be taken???

My personal view was that Guzan's momentum carried him into Suarez, but there was no intent to foul him. If that had been anywhere else on the pitch nothing would have been given.
If he was stopping a goal-scoring opportunity, then fair enough. But so many penalties are being given when the ball is going out of play.

Players are now LOOKING for contact, either by changing their own direction or by leaving a foot/leg hanging to get caught.

It's baffling how many pundits applauded the referee for booking Oscar at Southampton less than three weeks ago yet so few of them have been prepared to call out Suarez for diving in a virtually identical situation.

Surly Suarez fouled Guzan by leaving his foot in :sneaky:

Sorry but that wasn't a foul by Vydra. Distin is as strong as an ox, there is no way he got pushed over by someone like Vydra.

Fuck me. West Brom's ball control. I hear the benny hill theme tune when they try and form an attack.

Really poor game so far.

Thought West Brom would be out of the taps fast. No atmosphere, no tempo...Everton 1-0 written all over it.

Really don't deserve that...they've been ordinary.

But better sides only need one chance.

Fully expecting Everton to win this, so surprise they're in front.

The key to our season is going to be over the next couple of months. If we can get through Feb/March within touching distance of the top four I think we'll have a real chance of CL qualification.

Have you seen the run-in Everton and Liverpool have?! They'll both do very well not to drop a lot of points in those games.

Tough run ins I take it? Liverpool have got a few of the top 7 at home though don't they?
