Watching Spain and seeing Fabregas in a different light made me realise just how good he is. If Modric is half as good as Fabregas I will be delighted.

What a total prong. I'm sure Gibbsy will take this as vindication of his anti-Modric ravings, though, which is actually pretty amusing.

Fibreglass tough like a boxer? He couldn't even fight his way out of Teemu's pocket.

Just pin it up on Modric's locker before we play the scum....

....and he'll probably get sent off!

Fibreglass said in an interview during Euro 2008 that 'at arsescum' everything passes through me'.

I guess this could be why his stats are high. Maybe because he is the only option the scum have.

He is a quality player for sure but with 26 goals for his team since 2003. Gerrard has 78 goals during the same period.

So who is more effective?

(stats from wiki)

Fabregas seems to have gotten better with every season. Also a creative midfield dynamo needs to be judged on his pass completion and assists - not goals scored.

Errr, I'm pretty sure growing up in a somewhat war torn Croatia will toughen him up just fine. I'm pretty certain Wenger is quickly becoming senile.

I'm not too worried about Wengers comments neither is Ramos I bet. Let wenger keep spouting this crap, he only makes himself look silly. I always had a lot of respect for George Graham as a manager and as a man, I was delighted when he came to manage us. I would never feel that way if Wenger came to manage us, he is such a arrogant sod and lacking in humility. He never did apologise for calling Jol a liar. He is a disgrace.

That's being very harsh on Fabregas, as he was only 16 in 2003. Gerrard didn't score his first Prem goal until he was 19. I don't really think that's an effective way to use stats. They are both great players, but last season, when Fabregas was only 20 years old, he was probably better than Gerarrd. For a 21 year old Fabregas is frighteningly good and I don't think we've seen a central midfielder reach his level at such a young age before in the Prem.

Having never, ever watched the Bosnian league, I don't know how physical it is, but according to a lot of reports in the press, it's one of the toughest, and Modric held his own there as an 18 year old.

Paedo's talking bollocks again then? It's lucky he never spends huge sums of money on little Theos... I mean players.

I agree. Don't like him obviously, but I won't let my bias cloud my view on knowing for a fact he's one of the best players in the Premiership. His passing was world class when he came on for Spain during the Euros too.

We'll see what Wanker has to say when Modric goes in hard and breaks Fabregas' legs.

Bendtner?

He's shit.

Bendtner is 20 years old, only one year older than, for example, our own Pekhart. He gets games at a top 4 pl side, he is a starter for a decent national side and he is pretty tall and pretty strong (qualities that you just can't teach).

If he is shit I wonder what that makes the dozen of other players who are both older and less talented.

Well it remains to be seen how Modric will cope but I was watching an episode of Goalissimo that I had on Sky + which was done quite a while before the tournament and he was really praising Modric so not sure why he would come out with that stuff other than to piss off Spurs
