Wenger is just annoyed that we've signed a quality player, ignore the filth fucking kiddie-fiddler and his sour grapes.

Bendtner is 20 years old, only one year older than, for example, our own Pekhart. He gets games at a top 4 pl side, he is a starter for a decent national side and he is pretty tall and pretty strong (qualities that you just can't teach).

If he is shit I wonder what that makes the dozen of other players who are both older and less talented.

He's also a fucking nightmare in the dressing room, whom apparently is universally hated by his teammates who enjoy taking a swing at him every so often--probably because they are jealous of his G-d-like talent. [sarcasmo-meter: level 10; the highest level]

Apparently, the Mighty B. and Ade just can't partner up front and make it work. Van Persie, on the other hand, that little twat is talented.

As for the comments: who cares?

thing about modric is he is too thin - wenger say's when you get a hard english CB in the depths of english winter at him he will be snapped in half.

fair point really I mean where he is from he has never had to put up with english winter, all he'd had is 34 below zero, with some huge hard bastard at him - I mean the number of times he went over during the euro's was about 100x less than that hard bastard 'ponderos'

wenger what a tosser, why not just say, i missed out?

So it is easy now, it's just that some people don't look at their manuals.

Back on topic, thirty years ago many wiseacres were telling anyone who'd listen that Ossie would get kicked off the pitch. As it turned out, these noobs had no idea that the Argie league was at least as tough as the old Division One at the time, probably a good deal tougher, and Ossie could look after himself very well indeed. Also, Ricky was well capable of riding shotgun. I can remember him absolutely clattering Tommy Smith after he'd gone too far on Ossie. Dave Mackay would have been proud.

Why dont we use this thread to discuss how Luka is likely to cope in the Premiership and how important being big/tough actually is in the Premiership. We all know Wenger is a nob so it doesn't need to be said by every single member.

Scholes isnt big and isnt particularly tough but has been a huge success in the Premiership. I think its alot more of a mental thing. I think Jenas struggles in the more physical games and he's not small. It's down to his lack of aggression and determination. When people say, 'this is gonna come down to who wants it more', it really is true, even in individual challenges. I dont think Luka would have survived in the Bosnian league if he didnt have that determination.

I missed all the knockout games as I was on HOliday, but in the group stages i thought the whole Croatian team had that sort of determination. One of the reasons I thought they'd get to the semis at least

in croatia's first game against austria, in the first couple of minutes, he body bumped the austrian defender out of the way who was a good foot taller and quite bigger, won the ball, turned, played a through ball and earned a penalty, which he then scored.

countless other times he showed his tenacity and strength. the best bit was the mini royal rumble he had in the middle of the park with about three other players. i forget the game, but modric came out of it with the ball after being bundled and sent to the floor.

i have no fear about him being lightweight. and players that have a supposed 'flaw', like teddy with no pace, tend to make up for it in other ways if they're smart enough, and i definitely think modric is a smart player. and we all know wenger is a grade a nob

A legitimate question to ask by Wenger but one I think he already knows the answer to. Hleb, Rosicky and Fabregas have indeed made the grade in the EPL but their managers comments are just a psychological dig at we who covet a top four place. Modric appears to be a player who will always want to be at the centre of the action. I feel he will hold his own but it would be good to have someone alongside him who can share the tackle load.

That's being very harsh on Fabregas, as he was only 16 in 2003. Gerrard didn't score his first Prem goal until he was 19. I don't really think that's an effective way to use stats. They are both great players, but last season, when Fabregas was only 20 years old, he was probably better than Gerarrd. For a 21 year old Fabregas is frighteningly good and I don't think we've seen a central midfielder reach his level at such a young age before in the Prem.

i guess this just shows how stats do not tell the whole truth. I wholeheartedly agree 100% that Fabregas is frighteningly good. He's the sort of player that IS a Spurs player. Gerrard is great also but they are different types of players - i'd love to see them play together - but not against us!

Fabregas definately became a man during the Euro 2008 tournament. He had a few decent games and reports from the spanish dressing room say they knocked his cockyness out of him. I think as a player he needed that - same happened to Ronaldo at ManU and now look at him!

Cesc is definately the player to stop playing when teams play against Arsenal. I expect him to have a tough season, as i thnk he may get a few hard tackles coming his way. If he takes a slight knock against west ham (they play them both games before us) then i wont be too disappointed.

On the topic of Modric, I trawled the interweb looking for al maor of clips of him and he's class!!! If Bilic says he is ready for the Premiership then I'll trust that mans judgement. I'm looking forward to seeing Luka roam free around the midfield - just like Hod used to do.

What a total prong. I'm sure Gibbsy will take this as vindication of his anti-Modric ravings, though, which is actually pretty amusing.

Fibreglass tough like a boxer? He couldn't even fight his way out of Teemu's pocket.

anti-Modric ravings?

He is a good player. I am anti THE PRICE WE PAID for skills to cash to what we really need ratio.

How about this:

Malbs - Modric - JJorZok - Lennon

Impossible to have so many short players in midfield. We will get DECIMATED even more than we usually do from set pieces and corners.

For Modric to be in the starting 11 you need to sacrifice one or BOTH of our top scorers from midfield.

didn't wenger want modric 6 months ago ?

anyway, please stop saying he grew up in the "bosnian league", he played for Dinamo Zagreb which belongs to the croatian league, you probably know those people don't get along very well
