Not a great game and I think a draw was a fair result. We didn't lose and hopefully Conte will sort out the pissing about at the back from Loris and the defence, they just don't have the skill to carry it off. Emerson needs some time on the bench as he doesn't offer much at the moment but when Romero's back the defence will look a lot more comfortable. The one missing link for me is a creative midfielder the team is crying out for someone to grab hold of the game in MF with quick precision passes and supply our front strikers with the ammunition for more goals. We know they have the ability for scoring goals but they lack support. and I don't think Bissouma is the one to fit that position, only time will tell. I'm patient and will want to see another 10 or so games to see if we have the makings of a team to take us to the top. We are still a million miles away from City but another 4th place or even third this season add another couple of windows and if Conte is still here then it could be a lot different next year. Other than Chelsea we haven't played any of what you would call the best sides in the league so the next few weeks will see where we are in the challenging stakes.

Spurs are playing like a Christian Gross team,
the football is awful ,
turning into long ball merchants, just boot it upfield or out of play,
that's how West Ham scored,
Sorry this is utter rubbish

We were trying to draw them in and play out, hardly long ball. The long ball comes when there are no options and the player in possession feels under pressure

The midfield were the problem in that second half, well along with the fact Davies and Sanchez are miles behind Lenglet and Romero with the ball at their feet

Bentancur is playing I really think we win that game and stay in control

We came 4th last season, so we now have a target on our backs as one of the 'better' sides in the PL. Teams aren't going to take points off City or Liverpool, so we're the next best thing. Everyone is going to up their game when the play us, so we'd better be ready to do the same thing.

I enjoy us winning whether we play like shite or play like prime Barcelona. I can accept we're a work in progress and things don't happen over night. I'm patient. I'm prepared to ride it out that we may not click for another few weeks yet, but as long as there's a plan and Conte is trying to implement it, I'm absolutely fine with that.

Nuno and Jose, and even Poch towards the end of his tenure, had no plan, or rather there was no progress with the way they were coaching or managing.

I really don't mind whether we have 75% of the ball or 25% of the ball, there's more than one way to win a football match.

Check back my other post in this thread. Last night was painful, we didn't play well and it was hard to watch but I still believed we could win it even playing as poorly as we were. We looked shaky in defence for probably the first time since Chelsea away and it was nervy. But it was a Derby, away from home, against a team that is notorious for giving absolutely everything against us and then falling off a cliff afterwards.

I don't think there would be even a quarter of the whinging and whining if Arsenal weren't top after FIVE games. But because its them people are panicking and conflating our issues. Let's not forget Arteta has had about 2 more years with his team vs Conte.

Pay no attention to the league table until 10 games in. Everton were top this time 2 seasons ago and finished middle of the bottom half.

A note, Contes Chelsea team that won 13 games on the spin didn't get motoring until GW7/8, and their early wins came very late in games, they scored a handful of goals after the 80th minute in those. Relax. He's got this.
agreed, except when you got a corner taker who constantly fails to beat the first defender, terrible passing and no clue going forward its just poor imo.

The most infuriating thing (which is still doing my head in) is that for the first time this season, a team has given us all the time and space with the ball we needed, and we didn't know WTF to do with it! We could and should have absolutely slaughtered them if only we'd played with more urgency, passion and belief. I've even started to wonder lately WTF Conte is doing with the guys on the training pitch because they've looked clueless for the most part of the season.

Yes, we're still third in the table and yes, we're still unbeaten but apart from the evil blue stink, who have we played...?

We have played away to the teams who finished 3rd and 7th last season (and got two draws) and then beaten everyone else. Not sure what else you expect or demand.

Yes, but wouldn't it have been even lovelier if we'd played great football in the process?

I’m in agreement with you. I was raging yesterday in the first half at the inability of virtually everyone to play one touch football- receive it, quickly pass it to a man in space and move forward for a possible return call. Instead we had slow pedestrian 3 or 4 touch football. By the time someone got the ball under control there was no one in space in front to pass to so it was pass backwards or sideways and get nowhere. It was as bad as I’ve ever seen us play - like watching us in the ‘90’s.
Then the second half began and WH woke up and we went to piece’s especially at the back.
My biggest disappointment was with Conte. I was shocked he didn’t make any changes. He couldn’t have been happy at what he was seeing?

Heard the away end was dog shit. Case to be made about the game but all I hear is the away ends are getting worse and worse. Take of the £30 cap imo.

I was in the away end, the stadium is dog shit, the view is dog shit, the way its set up cuts the away sides fans in two making it hard to generate any atmosphere which is dog shit, West Ham and West Ham fans are dog shit but my point is if you remove the £30 cap they would only increase the price and I cant see how that would help with whatever you think needs helping.

All true but my point is when there wasn’t the cap, away tickets used to become available to members aswell. I used to always get Chelsea and West Ham away tickets. Surely now it’s mostly the same 3k crowd to away games?

I love that. It's one of the finest descriptions of the pikeys and their stadium (or should I say 'the stadium they play in'...) I've come across. ?‍♂️
