I’ll tell you what Gooner & Spammer fans are doing today - Massively biting on my banter and crying into their cornflakes! They have short memories as they’ve conveniently forgotten all the shit they gave me when we were in turmoil last year. It’s been a delightful day. Re-Affirmed why I despise them.

This summer is going to be a gloatathon!

WANKERS!

Let's face it though as satisfying as this is, celebrating finish above a poor arsenal is small time.

Let's hope we kick on here and give ourselves something really worthwhile to celebrate.
To be honest I'm not celebrating finishing above arsenal, to some extent I'm not even celebrating getting CL although they are the icing on the cake.
I'm actually celebrating how good we've become, we finished above Arsenal and got CL because we've become so good and we will get better, that's the real positive.

Most United fans were begrudgingly blue yesterday tbf, including all my family.

They ideally don’t want City winning the league, but more than that they don’t want Liverpool catching them, ever.
Imagine if they keep cheering on City to win the league vs Liverpool every season until one day they realise City have caught them as well and they’ve been supporting them the whole time?

I disagree. We stole cl from them! They were 4 pts ahead with 3 games to go! 3 games to go! 4 pts ahead!

We will be able to attract a better class of player, keep our best players and our world class manager. We'll be playing against top teams on a Wednesday night in front of 62000 in the best stadium in the world. They'll be playing Thursday nights against the King's Head 2nd 11 in front of 2 men and a worryingly scared looking dog in the local park! The very definition of small time!

There is literally nothing sweeter than that and it will be a gift that keeps on giving throughout next season.

I'm so sick and tired of fans criticising other fans for celebrating. Are fans only supposed to celebrate a trophy then? What if it's a trophy that isn't considered a top trophy? What if it's a trophy when they haven't had one in multiple years thus criticising the lack of trophies over the years?

It can snowball. It's also tedious as fuck.

We are allowed to celebrate right now, Leeds should celebrate, Man City should celebrate, Everton should celebrate. Football should be fun, fuck this "small time" bullshit.

Another huge advantage is the Tuesday/Wednesday midweek instead of Thursday - Sunday most weeks. We all know how much of a disadvantage it is playing Thursday nights and how it can massively impact Prem form.

So much this. Trophies are great but football is so much about moments. I don't really think much about our last league cup win but I sure do think a lot about the great moments we've had, Lucas in Ajax, VAR at the Etihad, Eriksen at the Etihad, Kanes goal in the last game at WHL. I still get goosebumps at a lot of those but 2008 does little to the same effect.

I'm sure I'm not alone and I'm sure people will use "This game is about glory" to counter it, but I'd caveat that phrase by saying there is glory in those moments I've mentioned, they just didn't result in a trophy.

That's the beauty of football.
If you can't enjoy the little victories, we may as well just call it a day and support the top couple of teams? Why even bother being a, say Sutton Utd fan if you can't enjoy a moment of glory in whatever way it presents itself.
Football should be about enjoying a moment, for the sake of that moment.

Yep. Reminds me of the time years ago when Man U were good one of their fans asked me what was the point in supporting Spurs? Funnily enough it was about the time it turned to shit for them when Ferguson left.

See I always saw it the other way. Where’s the fun in winning the league every year. Whereas winning it just once would mean the world to us.

Fuck me, it's like we all get to choose who to support?!
Sums up so many fans of the so called "Big clubs". Glory hunters with no real idea of what it's like to be a proper fan and the link that gives us to the club.
We haven't 'chosen' to support Spurs, like most fans of these so called lesser teams, it's in our blood.

That sort of attitude really pisses me off. There are hundreds of clubs across this country, with proper loyal fans who have followed them through thick and thin, at whatever level.
Should they not enjoy a 91st minute winner because they haven't got a trophy for it?
Bollocks. Football snobbery at its worst.

I honestly don’t see the difference in playing Thursday - Sunday to playing Wednesday - Saturday. It’s the same number of days between games.

There's a lot of sense being spoken in this forum suddenly. It's amazing how doing well does that. When we're going through a bad period this place is like a cess pit. People lose their minds and their perspective and end up being boring whinging gits obsessed with dumping on our owners. If only we were like this all the time.

Most of us are, just that when the club is down in the doldrums, the ones that thrive on negativity come crawling out from under their rocks and insist on posting everywhere and in every thread, over and over again.

It feels like people nowadays seem to take great pleasure in moaning on social media, like people don't want to be happy anymore, they just want to moan and complain.

There's a good core of positivity on here but it can sometimes get drowned out by those who shout louder and more often.

It’s funny how virtually every southern Man Utd fan you meet has mentally prepared a list of reasons detailing why they aren’t glory hunters and can reel it off on command. It’s like every one you meet claims to be the special one whose great, great grandfather was a reserve goalie or some other nonsense. You just have to smile and nod until they convince themselves of their purity.

I still prefer Utd out of the other so called traditional top four and usually hope they beat our other rivals but they have some of the most entitled fans ever, at least around Essex!

Other clubs and their fans only exist so that spurs have got somebody to play.
