haha indeed, that's what I was going for! I seem to remember that the number zero was discovered independently by both the mayans and certain asian cultures (but I found out about the asians bit just a few years ago, since here in my country we're only taught about the mayans doing it, given that they are part of our history and culture).
These early counting systems only saw the zero as a placeholder—not a number with its own unique value or properties. A full grasp of zero’s importance would not arrive until the seventh century A.D. in India. There, the mathematician Brahmagupta and others used small dots under numbers to show a zero placeholder, but they also viewed the zero as having a null value, called “sunya.” Brahmagupta was also the first to show that subtracting a number from itself results in zero. From India, the zero made its way to China and back to the Middle East, where it was taken up by the mathematician Mohammed ibn-Musa al-Khowarizmi around 773. It was al-Khowarizmi who first synthesized Indian arithmetic and showed how the zero could function in algebraic equations, and by the ninth century the zero had entered the Arabic numeral system in a form resembling the oval shape we use today.

Arsenal fans would be going mental if they got 4th and I wouldnt blame them either. You have to support your team and enjoy the special moments. If trophies were all that mattered wouldn't everyone just follow a small handful of teams? How boring would that be. A trophy is officially won in one game but with Europe we're playing 50+ games a season. We have to celebrate and enjoy those games as much as possible. Highlight of this season for me was that late double at Leicester, it gives me goosebumps when they play it in the pre game video. In fact there it's often the smaller clubs who have the best atmosphere too. So yeah we should celebrate this achievement.

Not much being said ...

Arsemania:

that could make Conte stay. 150M is so much money to spend for him. even tho last season with January signings they spent around 130M.
conte will stay as long they get the targets he ask.

I they are not paying for kulusevski now (going to be another loan with option/obligation). They are paying for Romero and bentancur now i think.

no they should pay it was obligation after they qualified to CL that was the clause i believe around 35M they have to pay Romero too i dont remember how much. bentancur was permanent transfer in January.

Also i'm not sure if it right move to announce how much money you have to spend now clubs will ask for extra when Sp**s want their players.

Red cafe:

Fair play - they have two world class attackers and a world class manager with CL football. Now is the time to try and invest.

That is encouraging - hopefully a lot of that will go into the transfer budget. (posted by a Spurs fan)

Arsenal Mania
  • I'm glad Conte is staying at the club, lets see how good he is.Makes Sp**s a better side, no doubt, and the league a harder place to compete in. Next season is going to be tough.
  • Love this man! He'll settle for nothing less than a chance to challenge for a trophy.
  • ? He spent 3/4 of this PL season trying to get released from his contract.
  • Conte is like that whiny kid that gets everything he wants as long as he cries enough. And when he finally gets told no, he changes clubs
  • Oh yeah that whiny kid who just happen to win the league wherever he goes, wonder why’s that?
  • I think they are laughing at us now, if they keep Conte they will be laughing at us next year as well.

  • Not laughing so much now, are we?
  • ⭐
  • Conte is going to sign a proper LCB, RWB, LWB and CM that will go straight into his first 11 and that will fit his system like a glove, that much is guaranteed. Arteta will piss around signing a back up CB and LB because he decides he doesn't like Saliba or Nuno. The difference
  • They know this is their best bet for a long time, so I think Levy is going to give Conte what he wants

Yeah they arent saying much,

More arguing about whether kulu is someone we have to pay for now, or next summer and how much we have technically already spent of that 150m, they seem to think its 130m.

The copium is strong. This investment is in addition to our ever increasing stadium and commerical income and upcoming CL prize money. We've lowkey started to pay decent money since the stadium opened too, and that's with a pandemic happening.

Meanwhile they expect to spend £150m themselves despite being up to the eyeballs in transfer instalments from years of failed CL gambles.

The reality is that both teams will spend a fair amount, I now just expect us to spend considerably more.

The bastard league n TV will move our times
Good, that way English fans who can't get to the games can legally watch them.

Re Kulu/Romero
Surely those deals will be structured over the lengths of their contracts, the way virtually every transfer is done these days....stupid goon mugs.

No problem with northerners (i'm midlands) more a reflection that he was feeling that way whilst 2 clubs up north were battling out for quadruples and prem tittles. Looking at him he was a kid when arsenal were good and he must now be regretting things
So pretty much like my Dad then ? - started supporting Spurs in the 60s
I started in the 80s so spent the 90s taking all sorts of flack from lpool, Man U and Leeds fans. About 2005 An uncle (Grimsby fan) accused me of being a glory hunter - I replied that that would make me the worst glory hunter ever!!

Agree. We are also celebrating the fact that we can look forward to a positive summer. After last years doom and gloom it is so nice to feel like we are in a good place
