all these stories going round constantly, seems to be a new player every day!
Modric is a great signing but who else do you think we would be able to get in?

We are in desperate need of a Defensive Midfielder that can wear teams down and plays with his heart on his sleeve. Gatusso? or are we just dreaming?

Like we have been since the departure of David Ginola we are still in need of a left sided midfielder. Fingers crossed Diego Capel comes through but will Sevilla sell to us?

i'd just like everyone's thoughts on how they think the team will look come next term (realistically!!)

The problem with any post/pre-season transfers is that whoever the supporters want, are often are wayyyyy beyond the wildest or reasonable expectations.

The management are the ones who know what is going on (or they ought to!!!) and who they want is paramount.,

We just fuel the rumours and add to the speculation

Good, innit!

I think we need a different option for the right. Whether you rate Lennon or not, I think it's fair to say we definitly need an alternative as at times the guy can go several games without looking at all dangerous, but we lack a decent create alternative. Someone like Benyoun or Larsson would be good cheap choices, that provide a realistic alternative to lennon.

Amelia, Veloso, Gattuso, Fornaroli, 2nd GK

although I'd ideally like to see

Neuer, Veloso, Lucho Gonzalez, Fornaroli, 2nd GK

I'm thinking Modric will most likely play on the left so how about Steed as an alternative to Lennon? I think we are more likely to go for central midfielders and even left sided than right. JJ can also fill in there when needed.

Assuming Berba's gone, and baring in mind my team for next season changes every day:

------------------------Jaaskalainen----------------------
----------------------------------------------------------
--Hutton--------Woody-------------King------------Bale--
----------------------------------------------------------
--Lennon----------1-----------------2-----------Modric---
----------------------------------------------------------
------------------3---------------Keane------------------

Jussi is free and we'd be stupid not to offer him some sort of deal, unless there's someone else around who Juande prefers and isnt going to break the bank.

Capel looks a class act and shoud be brought in so we can rotate him, Modric and Lennon as Modric can play either wing. We would also have the option of playing all three with Modric in the hole behind a single striker.

1 - A creative midfielder, but one who can hold his own in a 4 man midfield. My suggestions:

Xabi Alonso
Lucho Gonzalez

2 - A defensive midfielder, plenty of running and aggressive in the tackle. Also needs a 'never say die' attitude. Davids at his best! My suggestions:

Miguel Veloso
Jean II Makoun

3 - A 20+ goal a season striker to replace Berba as Keano's partner. Bent's not the worst option but if better comes available we should pounce. My suggestions:

Eto'o
Vucinic
Villa
Adriano? (just thought of this one, has attitude and weight problems but I'd trust Juande to get him back to his best)

I think Steed played on the right for Fulham alot, but as DC Boy often points out, when he's played there for us, he's been a bit shit. You are right about JJ, but if we can get a cheap creative tye of player, then I think we should. It's not a position we should prioritize and i agree the middle is more important, but as I said a cheap option won't be a bad thing. Plua I just really want us to sign Larsson as I think he's so under rated.

Dunno, but I think that most of the players we get we won't know much about and people's opinions on them will be based mainly on whether they're any good on Football Manager.

If Capel's buy-out clause is legit then I think this is a possible cos I'm sure Ramos will try and get a few players from La Liga. I'd therefore dismiss almost anything linking us with players already in the Prem (such as Anton Ferdinand). Judging from Ramos' track record he looks to Spain and Russia for his players - not West Ham thank goodness.

Now that we've got Modtic, another two top level signings will do for me.

I don't know who will be brought in, but what I'll say is the whole needs a upgrade. We've made a good start with Modric. I wouldn't have Lennon, JJ, Zokora, Hudd, Steed or TT as regular first teamers next season. JJ is the one that pisses me off the most. The guy has so much potential but he is too inconsistent. He has enough ability to play regularly for England. I'd give him one more season if he doesn't make the grade then sell him. Lennon has improved but his delivery is terrible and he isn't as good as SWP. I wouldn't sell any of those players at this time though.

I think Steed has been the best of our midfielders this season. He along with Lennon though went down in my estimation though when they didn't take a penalty against PSV that showed a big lack of bottle.

I reckon we will sell;- ROBINSON,LEE.GARDNER,ROCHA,CHIMBONDA,TAINIO,KABOUL,BOATENG,GHALY AND BERBATOV! This should swell our transfer funds by about £50 million.
I reckon we will change our current 4-4-2 formation to something similar to Liverpools 4-2-3-1 and our team will look a bit like this.

......................................................McGregor.................................................
.....................................Woodgate.........................Cuellar...............................
...Hutton............................................................................................Bale......
.............................Zokora.............................................Makoun......................
..................................................Jenas/Montolivo...................................................
Arshavin............................................................................................Modric..
.....................................................Bent/Keane................................................

These are obviously the type of players that I would like but not necessarily the ones we will get.I do think we will buy at least 5/6 very good players and they will be a Goalkeeper,Defensive Midfielder,Central Defender,Central Midfielder,Attacking Midfielder and a Striker.
What do you think?

I want Cudicini, Diarra, Alonso and Shorey. If Berbatov leaves we also need a striker. Someone like Gudjohnson. This would not cost too much, and all are proven premier league players that will strengthen our starting eleven.

A team thats highly unlikely but that id like to see none the less.

The question regarding our current players is whether king can get/remain fit. If not we need a solid, experienced replacement in defence.

I'd like: Veloso, Amelia, Arshavin, Villa, Diarra and Garay.

Most likely though: Kapo, A.Ferdinand, G.Boateng, and Rasiak (Klinsmann had two spells with us, why can't Rasiak?).

Not sure how Bentley would fare in the middle. He'd be more likely to replace Lennon with JJ coming into the middle. The formation might work well when chasing a game though.

Thing is though that ITK earlier stated Blackburn want 15mill for him which is far too much.
