The Job will be offered to Mourinho if Harry goes surely

2004 :

He told PA International: "We were in Marseille for the Champions League and someone accredited to Tottenham spoke with me about moving right away to England.

"I told him if it was a proposition for next season then we could talk to see what could happen. "But to play against Marseille and then start immediately at Spurs, I wouldn't even listen to that invitation."

2007 :

According to sources close to Mourinho, he was offered the job no less than five times the day after he left Chelsea in September 2007 with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy understood to have agreed to match his then £5.2 million salary at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham’s persistence is believed to have even led to Chelsea upping the compensation package paid to Mourinho and his staff — a £10 million hike in all, so that he received a staggering £18 million.

As part of that settlement Mourinho agreed not to join another Premier League club within 12 months and signed a standard confidentiality agreement preventing him from discussing his departure.

I think that maybe in light of Mourinho's position at Real, it would be 3rd time lucky

Mourinho's wages are more like £10m per year now aren't they? Also what about compensation for Real Madrid?

I'm sure we'll offer him the job, and I'm sure he'll consider it. Doesn't mean he won't get a better offer.

We could always sweeten the deal by offering Mourinho a reach around from TSH. Although, that may have the opposite effect.

Like a few other posters I would like Hiddink. I think he would suit us more than Jose.

Would be a good option, however I`m sure I read somewhere that Hiddink isn`t interested in club management anymore, could be wrong though.

IIRC, the only time in its history the club has brought in a "big name" manager, was when Venables was appointed. We've had a number of known quantities(Francis, Hoddle, Redknapp), foreign managers with a measure of success(Gross, Santini, Ramos), but never somebody with a superstar portfolio - in the latter I'd include Mourinho, Hiddink, Ancelotti.

Correct me if I'm wrong but If he quits Levy doesn't pay compensation.

I'm not certain about this, but if he quits he'd have to pay Madrid compensation. I would imagine he would expect Spurs to pay this for him.

Capello for me all the way, by far and away the best available manager.

Keep Harry until the summer and bring in Capello (if he wants it!)

Followed quickly by Gareth Barry and Stewart Downing!

And Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart and and Cahill... not a bad selection barring the obvious undesireables...

P.s I don't want Capello, we need a motivator to keep the squad intact ... Mourinho wont come same as Guardiola, Hiidink... not many good managers available at the moment... Jurgen anyone ?
