About a week before the '67 Cup Final, I was on Stafford staion waiting for a train to London. A guy came to stand next to me on the platform who I recognised as Tommy Docherty.

I said to him "you haven't got a chance next week, Tommy". At that he went into a complete rant and subjected me to a obscene diatribe that, amongst other things. questioned the parentage and sexual persuasion of Greaves and Gilzean. I feared he was going to hit me but luckily a woman (his wife?) with a child managed to drag him away. Complete nutter.

I enjoyed my visit to Wembley the following week even more.

When I was about nine my uncle used to referee the FA Youth Cup matches. We played Arsenal one night @ WHL and I was waiting for him outside the dressing room. Billy Nick walked up, stopped and asked me how are you going 'smiler'. Real pleased that he took the time to stop and speak to me when he was just about to go into the Spurs rooms to speak to the players:)

I was walking back from a party in Brentford when I saw Gus Poyet standing by his car. Dutch courage enabled me to go and ask him what he was doing and he said that he was helping a friend to move into the flats just round the corner from me. This was the summer that he was leaving us as a player. He seemed to be happy to stop and chat with me rather than help his friend carry his possessions up two flights of stairs.

As a 6 year old boy I met Sir James Greaves....and, let's say, one of us was not 'sober'. I had last seen him during the '66 WC....in the players lounge (surprise surprise!) or somewhere like that in Wembley.....He was 'pissed off' because Ramsey had 'forgotten' tro select him for the Argentina (Ratin) game (or was he injured/suspended?).
I met him again in '67...close to WHL...and he looked 'lost' despite being an FA Cup Winner (a few week previously) but he was a gentleman to me and gave me an autograph and a joke or two....both of which were like Manah from Heaven to me....Awww those were the days....I have met him since...but, for some reason, he did not remember haha. COYS!

I met Adel Taarabt on the way back from my Honeymoon in Morocco. My wife shouted out I was spurs greatest fan! The shame.

I've met movie stars, royalty (including the Queen), US Presidents, politicians, sportsmen and TV people.....but let alone a footballer, let alone a Spurs player....well unless you count Chris Perry. Where does one go to meet them?

He's that thick that he can't write, so a little uncomfortable when being asked for autograph.

Did he have his hand in someones back pocket looking for their wallet when asking him?

I met him as well and he claimed that I had nicked his mobile phone. I told him" This is mine because it has the Spurs crest on it you Gooner ****!". He didn't know what to say after that and walked off

Ex-Gooner Paul Davis (no relation!) was at an open air festival my daughter played in some years ago. I made sure he heard me when I yelled, "Up the Spurs!"

It was very much in Gooner territory (Gillespie Park) and I received some very hostile glares, although not from Paul Davis himself!

Not Spurs related but I just found out that my cousin's boyfriend plays non-league football for Whitley Bay FC & is in the Quarters for the FA Vase. Funny, when I met him he never mentioned footie at all, despite me checking the Spurs - Man U score every 5 mins on my phone...
