Why the Nabil Bentaleb hate?

The simple football fan sees sideways and backwards passing, the football brain sees the ball ticking over, constant quick movement and the ability to switch play at the click of the finger. This guy's job is not to make the 40 yard through balls that look amazing when they come off, he's probably performing better the less you notice of him.

Good watch,thanks for posting.
I am a big Bentaleb fan and he had a pretty good game against Chelsea but it certainly wasn't one of his best performances.
I have seen him playing way better in several games and there is a lot more to come from Nabil.

You also have to take into consideration the quality he was up against in that midfield. Can only be another fantastic learning experience for him. Let's hope he can keep improving, as he has consistently for the last 18 months

He's 20. Name me 10 better CMs, at 20, over the last 5-10 years.

As another poster said, all about opinions but the fact that Poch and Sherwood hold him in such high regard added to how much better we've played with him in the team suggests he is more than average. Like Carrick, I suspect a lot of people will realise what they've lost when he is gone. He won't get loads of assists but he facilitates everything else, some people struggle to pick up on these subtle things (just like they did with Carrick).

As it doesn't appears that you're going to answer me, I'll have a bash at this myself. Better 20 year old CMs in the last 10 years in the prem - Barkley, Wilshere, Pogba, Fabregas... Given Barkley and Fabregas are/were AMs andPogba never played in the prem, I think I'm being unkind. James Ward Prowse another potential but not certain

I'm a huge fan of his, I suspect those that aren't will realise his importance to us in the month he has gone

Barkley is not better nor is Wilshere. Pogba didn't play and was Fabregas really better at 19/20 ? My memory is not what it was but I don't recall him breaking through and establishing himself at that age.

Yes. He was unbelievable as much as it pains me to say it.

Yeah, I was being deliberately harsh. Was just trying to make the point that it's very very hard to find better 20 year old CMs.

Sadly, Fabregas was 17/18 when he broke through and was horrendously good.
