Palace won't sell to us.

I'm going keep posting this until the window shuts.
Why? Not why won't Palace sell to us because that's just an onion based on fuck all, but why keep repeating it? If we don't make a bid that doesn't make you 'right' because you can't 'not sell' to someone that ain't buying. Basically, the odds are stacked in your favour, repeating it doesn't make you a transfer guru or something :D

Maybe send them a player on loan to sweeten the deal. GKN or Wimmer if Poch rates CCV higher. I think Allardyce would take a decent CB in preference to Zaha, given the amount of goals they ship.

No idea whether palaces stance on Zaha has changed, but Sam had tried to sign AT for both westham and Sunderland. Clearly rates him. Question is whether that has any bearing on Wilfs future or not.

He will cost well north of £25m (my guess is £35m) + wages, for that kind of money you expect a player to be a game changer/winner. Is he that....? A very inconsistent player from all the times I have seen him, not exactly what we need seeing we have plenty of them players in the final third already and sold 2 of them in the last year (Chadli/Andros).

Inconsistent in his final product maybe, but he's become a consistent handful for opposing fullbacks in terms of running at them. Something we haven't got or had for awhile.

Beg to dis agree we have had just that in Walker and Rose. If we play an out and out winger he will be taking their space. Thats not to say that he would not be a potent threat coming off the bench, but a lot of money for a player that as far as I can see wouldnt be part of our best starting 11.

Beg to differ with you. He can play in s front three, or just behind. Guy is a good player, and a type we need, and is well adapted to this league.

So hes a threat through the middle, but is he a first team starter and if so who does he replace. Also how many goals has he scored from this position? Not questioning hes a good player but for 30+ million I would want a starter.

I'd want the main course, sweet and coffee with a liqueur as well for that money:LOL:

I think when the Palace chairman said that Poch thought Zaha could be the next Ronaldo, admittedly to much derision, what he was getting at is that Poch believes he could get a wide player who drifts in and out of games and turn him into a forward who can operate wide and through the middle as contributes goals and assists.

I would argue that Lamela, whom many are lamenting will have a person to challenge him. Son has been playing, and Zaha could easily of taken his place as a guide.

Wasn't that what we signed Sissoko for?

If we do get Zaha for £25 to 35m that's £115 to 125m we have spent on players in the final third who, lets be frank, wouldn't make any one of the other big 5 first teams (Njie/Sissoko/Son/GKD/Janssen/Zaha).

I wonder if Fat Sam would be content with Townsend. One erratic winger being enough for any man and all that...

Now he's in the Afcon squad I would imagine that lessens our interest. Signing a player we wouldn't have until Feb wouldn't make any sense.
