I'd say yes. But the more important question is:

Is Kessie really any different than Winks?

Because, if when Skipp gets suspended again, or if either are injured/knackered - Winks is going to play. I'd rather be able to rotate Kessie/Skipp/PEH
Sure but ideally we're buying a new starter to play next to Skipp meaning PEH would be the rotation option instead of Winks.

I really struggle to figure out who the ideal midfielder for us is that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

I'm not convinced there's a progressive ball carrier/passer in Europe who can fit into the physical demands of Conte's CMs. At least, not an affordable one. And the last position a club would be willing to sell in January is a centre midfielder, if he is good.
Not like we have elite progressive ball carrier/passer already in the club

How did we not sign Patson Dhaka last season. Would have been perfect as cover for Kane and can also play wide. Paratici only seems to deal with Italian and Spanish agents.
Personally don’t care if he only has knowledge of those 2 leagues. our recruitment has been shambles we have got players from all sort of leagues. Didn’t work though.
As long as we have someone who knows what they are doing, even if their fishing pond is small , I am fine with it

Actually if you looked at our time recently where Levy & Hitchen ran recruitment we did 90% of our purchases in France, Holland or here in England.

there's a lot to like about aarons but his composure and delivery in the final third is really lacking, he gets himself into great positions(which itself is a positive) but rarely does he deliver with any kind of quality. in 45 games last season for a pretty dominant norwich side he only managed two goals and two assists, a player with even an average final ball would have comfortably gotten at least double that. of course he's only young so he could well improve but that's not always a given. i'd still take him over what we have but i'm positive that there are better options out there
I agree completely. Go back and read the threads on him back then and see the general consensus regarding him though. I've rated him since day one and was massively in favour of signing him when we did. I'd wager you'd be staggered by the number of posters who did nothing but criticise his stats and lack of assists and goals back then though.
100% agree the same with Michael car Rick who was an absolute Rolls-Royce

Thinking on it some more I have no idea what we should do about our midfield moving forward. A better player would definitely be preferred but in our current setup the attack is all generated by the wingbacks & the three forwards.

I would probably lean towards going big on an Nkunku or Goncalves to play in Lucas' spot over getting another midfielder who is a more defensive player as a slight upgrade on PEH.

I think Brozovic would be a good signing. Still has plenty to offer and would be a bit like a modern day Edgar Davids acquisition.

It's funny, because no. 8 PSG Lo Celso is really the player who could tie this team together, and I know that's not who you were even referring to ;)

this is completely leaving out the obvious talents of Tanguy the Complicated. (Who I still hold out hope on, tbh, but given the Mura performance things aren't looking great)

120m on them two and we are actually worse in CM than in 2018, lol. Difficult to see how we've screwed things up this badly.

Skipp & PEH >>>>>>>> Winks & Sissoko

Agreed but I think he's come out and been open that they're working on a renewal of his contract.

What do you think he is going to do? He can't make the player come to us.

IMO Vlahovic is more likely to stay at Fiorentina until the summer, when he'll have a pick of which club to sign for.
Vlahovic isn't the only top striker we can go after, i'm talking in general are we going to go anotber window without a striker signed. Not holding my hopes up but we will see, hopefully i'm shocked at the end of the window.
