It’s not so much the individual players he’s signed, it’s that the squad as a whole has no balance at all.

We’ve got Kane, one of the great penalty box finishers of his generation, and we’ve got no players who can cross a ball competently, no players apart from Ndombele who have any real vision for forward passing, we have no players who can take set pieces consistently well.

These are just the basics of football and squad building that we’ve failed at.
sometimes i think the AI of FM/FIFA would do a better job regarding our transfers

The key is to buy quality proven players in small numbers

So in Jan we buy 2 guaranteed starters

In the summer we buy 3 guatentreed starters

Those 5 along with Lloris Romero Son and Kane plus the current players conte can coach to not be shit we are good to go

To speed up the process the players to target should be players Conte has coached
Totally agree with this approach - we need significant upgrades to start games. Assuming we can get two quality players in January which positions do we prioritise? One CM and one CF is essential in January for me. If there is any chance we can get Vlahović now we have to move heaven and earth to do so. That would make us a lot less reliant on Kane and Son. We badly need a creative passer to orchestrate in midfield, but not sure who is available. Going after Conte disciples would be advantageous as they know his system already, which makes Brozovic an attractive target, and (a long shot I know) even Eriksen if he can both prove his fitness, health and really wants to play again.

As well as getting players in it is just as important to get rid of the players Conte does not want. The whole squad need to realise if they do not massively improve they are out.

I think we need 3 in January. We need more options. Personally think CM is the biggest concern as even with everyone fit it is below par for me. Brozovic makes so much sense we need technical footballers with good energy. He ticks both boxes IMO.

Vlahovic is strongly linked and would give us much better options in the forwards we can't use the same 3 players every game. Think this will happen.

The other would be a defender, I think the 5 mainly used so far are sufficient for now but there is literally no quality in reserve. A centre back would make the most sense as we play with 3 so more risk of one getting injured. (When I say 5 I am including Reguillon and Emerson in this area).

In terms of outs being realistic I feel Rodon and Sanchez are the most likely players to move on. I think Dele and Ndombele will be difficult due to wages but we have to try. Doherty I just don't see other clubs being interested ad he has regressed so much since he was at wolves.

Winks and Lo Celso will probably be around until the Summer as I feel Conte would rather use them than Dele and Ndombele.

You build a squad by displacing first team players with better players. We seem to have pursued a policy of buying back ups. What kind of message is that? No one should be safe.

Couldn't agree more. What you've said said about Kane is the main reason im not that excited about Vlahovic. The players behind them and out wide simply aren't good enough to give them any meaningful service. Everyone criticised Mourinho but there's a reason he put literally everything on Kane and Son. We are missing 3 or 4 key players to actually knit things together. Players like PEH will look fine in a well functioning team, but are no where near good enough to do it on their own.

At this time I feel we are on the edge of a precipice. If these next few windows don't go right we are in serious danger, not oblivion, but somewhere very dark. How long will Conte hang around if things go bad ?

Levy has one last chance here, and he probably knows it.

The next 18 months could be "eventfull" to say the least.

At this moment I wouldn't be too upset if we sold the lot of them and just started again from scratch.

How we have ended up here is down to one man and that's Levy. He is firmly in the crosshairs now..one last chance. Back the manager, deliver on his requests, then pray like mad. My prediction ? He'll fail the manager.....

If we can shift Ndombele & Dele and bring in someone who can link the midfield to the forwards that would be great imo.

Starter wise we need to bring in a CB, CM, RWF and 1 wing back who’s more dynamic and potent than Reguilon or Emerson. Hernandez for the left or Baku for the right for example.

After that, we need another forward option.

We need to turn players like Lucas and Hojbjerg, who are current starters, in to back ups.

We need smart investment desperately.

We need another centre back , maybe two. Sanchez is too inconsistent and rodons distribution last night has cost him his spurs career I reckon. Tanganga can be worked on in that area so I would like him to stay.

That's not to say we need a 100 million pound defender but if we can get in two experienced players with not long left on their deals it would be really welcome.

The midfield is shocking. In January that's the biggest thing we need to address. They're not good enough , especially it we're sticking with the double pivot. If were going to spend serious money this is where I'd do it.

N'dombele should go to a l
Slower paced league, lo celso should be told step up or get out. This Argentina thing is now seriously hindering his career and the club should look to the authorities to let us stop him going if he isn't playing in-between. Winks should go for his own good too. That leaves skipp and Holjberg, neither of whom excite me but if we can get in a great all round midfielder then they will more than play their part

We certainly need a back up for kane but actually upfront I'd prefer us to go to a 2 with kane and son. We need reinforcements though, that's for sure.

Lots of work to be done but it's possible without breaking the bank.

The quality of our transfer links are getting a bit concerning

Seems like its the same old shit of past windows

From De Virj Skriniar Bastoni to Bailly & Min Jae

Collossal effort required getting rid of the underperforming/non-committed/substandard players at the club. There's clearly more than a few falling into these categories.

I'd suggest far too many, for far too long.

Optimistic I know, but I want the cull to be swift and brutal. My love of football is rapidly ebbing away, purely as a result of the shit standard we've reverted back to as an excuse for football.

I'm not some glory hunter, only supporting Spurs when we're winning, but I do expect some effort as a bare minimum.

Let's get some players in who actually give a shit for starters.

90% of links are guess work or agents putting their name out their, no need to worry purely about links

Of course there is the worry that we won't get the required players in quick enough, over the next couple of transfer windows and Conte will get fed up.

We'll see I guess.

Well that is the absolute odds on scenario.

South African variant causes more lockdowns - stadium closes, DL pulls up drawbridge on finances, breaks promises to Conte, Antonio walks
