Stan Collymore losing it lol

He does raise a good point that Sterling despite being heralded as a great player he has only started 24 games this season and he hasn't played much to earn his hype

That ref was a bottle job homer.

Rooney should have had a hat trick. We were out muscled and they knew every trick in the book.

Plus we don't have a right back. All things that the manager cannot change.

Until we bring in quotas for English players that actually play in the prem this will be a recurring cycle. Most of you on here would baulk at this so the same thing happens every 2 years.

I'm not even angry this time. Woy did pretty much the best he could with what he had available.

Also Uruguay are utter dog shit without Suarez. But they have him now. Whether he will last another couple of games will decide how far they go.

We've had the discussion before on here about armchair pundits/fans thinking they could do better than the manager... This is one of those occasions, where after witnessing the last two games, have to say I think I could!
Exactly. I've been way ahead of woy and that should just not be the case. I'd rather not be, I'd rather be proved a mug punter.

I think it was put into context for me when I heard them say Uruguay has a population of 3.5 million. How the fuck do they find 11 players that can beat us when we have a population of 65 million?

Incidentally, can anyone see Greece beating Japan tonight?
Our attacks were really individuals pulling out a piece of skill and dribbling past players. The only good move was the one we scored from. We have just left the front four to do it all by themselves. How many times have we seen players stop and think what to do next? They should know what is wanted of them, who is going to be in support etc. We have four players high up the pitch, the rest sitting deep. Absolutely clueless, individualistic and no support or cohesion.

Other limited teams in this world cup show signs of having a cohesive game plan and knowing what their jobs are and have options on the ball. Just basic organisation at least would have been nice and a bit more of it can go a long way. This is the most disjointed, chaotic team I have seen so far.

What worse than a better team imo that didnt qualify for euro 12?. Im as p off as anyone but we lost 2 close matches against good/decent opposition

I said it from day one, you need more running power through the middle. We missed that running power from the center of the park. Should of played Barkley in a 4-3-3...or sacrificed Henderson or even Gerrard...and had him as one of the two with more licence to drive forward.

Should of brought someone who was really prepared to sit, do the donkey work and put their foot in. Barry and Barkely as the two would of been my choice.

I know Barkley is a more a number ten type but for this tournament I would of put him in midfield with somebody very disciplined beside him.
Perhaps, but I think @mpickard2087 had it right in that England as a unit were far too disjointed and lacking in cohesion that it was almost irrespective of which personnel Hodgson chose to utilise it would have been ultimately futile.

If Italy beats Uruguay and Costa Rica then we'll volunteer Liz for a roll in the hay with the whole team. She can lie back and think of England.

I got alot of bewildered looks when I say we should of taken Barry but not taking or even playing a DM when you got two very attacking fullbacks and two CM's that want to either go forward and get the credit or pass the ball in the final third was one of the most bewildering decisions I think we made

Especially considering, that Barry had a great season with a good attacking side

There are fundamental problems I agree, but getting the right balance is integral for achieving cohesion.

Individual mistakes defensively and poor finishing has ultimately cost us though.

Its fine lines at this level to.

Technically speaking we have a population lower than 60mill

BUT Croatia has a population of 4 million and yet produces alot better technically gifted players despite not having the same quality of facilities, alot of big clubs, not being as rich as england and the league is tough as well for smaller players

Yep, no-one to break up play. My old man made a good point during the game... Every other team knows when to commit a niggly foul and stop a move dead. We are naïve and way behind in this aspect of the game.

Too many foreigners in the EPL = BULLSHIT!

We didn't even qualify for the WC in 74, 78 or 94. Our league wasn't rife with foreigners then either. Spain has the best foreigners at the moment and has done for some time and they've won the last 3 tournaments.

Italy in the 90's had all the best players in Serie A and the Italian team didn't suffer too badly. They got to the WC final in 94 and lost due to Baggio's penalty miss. Graham Taylor managed to miss out on us qualifying despite us having Gazza.

Too many foreigners my arse! Remove all the foreigners today and we still won't win the WC in the next 20 years.

Because some would have you believe 60m of the uk population is foreigners
