Shkodran Mustafi

@Syn_13 He plays in Serie A. I want a low-down on my desk by 1.
He got released by everton on a free after not getting any chances but he did win the U19's with germany had a very good season apparently and Man City were interested in signing him apparently

Klose's made the Germany squad. Hopefully he breaks the all time leading goalscorer record this summer.

USA my surprise pick for group G
LOL. I wish, mate. But the back 4 is atrocious. My first team back 4 would be Chandler Cameron Besler Johnson. I'm okay with that, but the chances we see that are slim to none. Klinsmann loves Evans, Gonzalez and Beasley for some reason. Germany and Portugal are going to run train on the back 4, I think.
will we actually have any players there except Paulinho?
Denmark arent there i dont htink, Walker must be a big doubt.....who am i missing, Brad?
Maybe our squad aint as great as we all think?
Brad retired from international play a while ago. He offered to come out of retirement for a qualifier this year though when Timmy got hurt and if Guzan ended up not being available for whatever reason.

Klinsmann sets teams up well for these tournaments though and haven't the U.S. not lost in like 2 years or something? That winning mentality will be important

Lost to Ukraine in a friendly earlier this year and Honduras last February(then article came out with unnamed players bashing Klinsmann leading to the US going on the longest win streak we've had)

I have been meaning to watch ever since his call up in march but I haven't watched much footy this year
He's injured and has missed most of the season.

Their midfield/forward list is just insane, so much depth.
Indeed but does Ozil deserve to start?

No but big occasions tend to result in managers having faith with 'older' players for better or worse.

Funny how he has gone from literally the best AM in the world to the perhaps not making the starting eleven in 12 months

Now one I think should definitely start is Muller who has been great but then you got 2 places left if you got Klose up front

To fill those spaces you have Kroos, Reus, Gotze and Draxler as well as Ozil and Podolski. I would go for Kroos Muller and Reus.

L.Bender Kroos

Müller Götze Reus

Bring back Schweinsteiger after the group stages when he's more up to speed, or even play Lahm in DM

1pm or 1am? :p

In all honesty mate, I haven't really watched much of him. Saw him play against Juve both times this season and I didn't see anything in him to suggest he's anything special, but it's tough opposition and I wasn't really paying attention to him. I saw this post earlier and asked a friend of mine who lives in Italy and watches as many games as humanly possible. He's always on the lookout for talent and I normally go to him when I need to know about players I don't get the chance to watch.

Apparently, he's the type of defender who throws himself into tackles and isn't afraid to put his body on the line. Sometimes he should stay on his feet and ends up comitting a few fouls as a result. He tries to put out fires as he likes to attack the ball, if you know what I mean. Mostly he's successful and gets good interceptions but sometimes gets caught out of position as it's quite a dangerous tactic. He's quite powerful in the air and fairly comfortable with ball at his feet. Tries long balls which are pretty hit and miss, and isn't afraid to try and run with the ball. Not as much as Verts or Chiriches, he doesn't do mad dashes forward, but he doesn't mind taking it forward or having the ball at his feet.

He sounds to me like a player who has a good future, as he's only 22 and really impressing, but he has a few question marks about his game. He's young enough to iron out those mistakes so he could become a really good player. I don't know how much game time he'll have for Germany but next season I'll try to keep an eye on him, if he's still in Italy that is.

Not that I have anything against Klose, I'd just like to see the Real Ronaldo keep hold of that record.

Looks like Ashley Cole has been left out.

Big shock for me, I know he hasn't played much this year but he's been a great servant to the national team and I would have expected him to start. Although we have more than adequate replacements in Baines and Shaw

EDIT: Mail also reporting no Carrick, not as shocked as that one but still would have liked to see him go

Baines and Shaw have been the best two English left backs this season. Despite Cole's experience taking those two is the right decision. Baines will start and there's more benefit from taking Shaw as back up than Cole.

Have no problem with Cole missing out. England need to think about the future and it's unlikely Cole will still be playing come the Euros. Plus, we have no expectations in this World Cup so we might as well blood the likes of Baines and Shaw.
