He was all over the place vs Aalborg
LOL... :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: :stupid:

From the mouth of Zokoras man friend as well. I dont understand why you stick up for him so much. He may have commitment and stamina but that is nothing without a footballing brain. He cant pass effeciently forward, he cant shoot (At all) and his positioning is awful..

I suppose its ok though if he shows great commitment to the shirt... :duh:

to be fare, second half he was immence. won some important tackles and really made the most of his role.

He won the ball and passed it, kept it simple and let hudd do the rest. zokora like this would be very good for us.

2 games in a row now Zoko has been appalling in CM, then moved to CB and had a half decent game. I really can't understand why we signed him, no way was Whinger interested in him going to the Woolwich Wanderers

Zokora always looks better the closer he gets to our own goal. Some of his finest moments have probably been when he is the one guy back when we have a corner and has to deal with the opposition breaking on us.

But he doesn't have the physical presence to be a starting CB, doesn't have the technique on the ball to be a starting FB, and doesn't have the leadership qualities to be a top class CM.

I quite like him as a player and he would probably be really good in a 5-a-side team, or great as a utility sub, but he is a bit of a square peg in a round hole in terms of the first team.

I can't understand that you can't see Zokora's talents. It is strange for me that nobody can see his qualities.....

Ramos sees it, and that is good to see.

Ramos has not exactly been blessed with midfield options though has he?? And Zoko is seemingly the best DM (even though that isnt his position) we have currently got at the club. He doesn't score goals, doesn't create goals, and isn't a DM so what is his game?? He does go on good runs occasionaly but then there is no end product. £8mill for that i don't really agree with.

Good performances??? Are you serious? He has played awful all season! Jol had too much faith in him and we lost a lot of games as a consequence. He puts masses of pressure on our defence and on JJ with bad positioning and sloppy passing...

In the two matches he played, where he was slapped into a restricting role and taken out of the (VERY) important central midfield role we have played a lot better. At West Ham we were down and came back after he was moved, then last night he was moved and the legend that is tommy hudd was moved into the centre in his place and lo and behold look what happened...

If you sent him to any other top half premiership team he would start on the bench...

That is enough to tell me you know nothing about football and that you are a "I like him but not him cos he's shit" type of "fan". Hudd the legend has been nothing short of rubbish for about a year now. Zokora is not the greatest player in the world but he gets into the team ahead of your so-called legend who can't run, tackle, head and has no bottle in tough games.

Zokora had a very good game in a deeper lying position in the second half and Hudd had a very good game when he came on, you should have the good grace to admit when a player plays well instead of talking the same blinkered nonsense all of the time.

Or can you just not help it?

That's rubbish. There are a few players he could have tried in midfield if he thought that Zokora wasn't up to it. Tainio, KPB, Hudd, Malbranque.

His game is that he is great at covering the back four in a role which is deep DM. He lets Bale and others storm up the pitch and can on occasion grab the ball and run with it from deep himself.

His passing can be a bit off (although he got a great assist a few games back with a sweeping cross into the box), but his tackling, tracking and passion are second to none in the team when is playing well.

Yes he had a shaky start to the game last night, but so did the rest of the team to be fair.

He could not have put Steed or KPB in the holding role in front of the back 4 so i hardly think im speaking rubbish, and he obviously doesn't see TT as part of his first team plans. THUDD imo should have started with JJ as in Europe at least he is given more time on the ball. And Zoko didnt exactly track back that well against the spam on Sunday either. Sooner we get an out an out DM in January the better

1. Why did our captain fantastic only touch the ball 3 times all game, why was he joined to Berbatovs shorts by a 3 metre cable and why is he so scared to come into contact with the opposition.

2. Why does Dawson manage to make dealing with a handfull of attacks seem like the fucking alamo.

3. Why does Chimbonda do stupid things.

I don't like the way you try and side-step the fact that he had a poor first half by throwing in other names. We're talking about Zokora not being the signing we thought he would be i.e. "great"; his tracking is somewhat infrequent. When he does it, he's pretty good at doing the job, but sometimes (like the first goal - which ITV4 highlighted brilliantly) he just watches.

Yes Chimbonda and Dawson looked like they just met, and yes Keano was quiet (just setting up the one goal) - but this is a perfectly valid discussion of his ability.

That said, he obvioulsy got a rocket up his arse at half time because he was nothing short of averagely great afterwards. He mopped up brilliantly, and even won headers and read the game!! He is definitely best suited to the Attacking Centre Back role.

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen.

We spent £8 million on a CM who Comolli presumably assured Jol could take the place of Carrick, and dictate the tempo of the game. Instead, we got an "Attacking CB".

Zokora has played two good halves this season: both when dropped into the defence, at West Ham as spare CB in a 3, and last night alongside Dawson but with the brief of stepping out and attacking the ball. The problem is Ramos is unlikely to play a 3-5-2 very often, and I'm yet to be convinced that Zokora could cut it as a proper CB in a normal back four. Last night, Dawson marked Aalborg's striker, and Zokora mopped up - a very different situation from playing CB against two top EPL strikers.

I don't dislike Zokora. He always puts the effort in, and he has great pace and athleticism. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have a good enough footballing and positional brain, or good enough passing technique, to play as a CM in a 4-4-2. It's a great shame and I don't think these qualities can be easily coached into a player in his mid-twenties.

Once Ramos gets the players to play his favoured 4-4-2, I suspect Didier will be on his way.

Hopefully he'll have a 'goodbye' match, so I can sing my song ...
