But would Eze want to stay there for one more year or does he fancy his chances in the PL now?

If so, he will prefer Crystal Palace because he'll be guaranteed games.

Look at Sessegnon, we chased him for a long time and he can't get any minutes. Eze will be advised to be wary of that.

If you were a young kid and a PL team with an abundance of attacking players wanted you would you choose them? Or would you choose a team where you had more chances to shine and standout.

I get what you're saying but he needs to decide on whether the short term move to start in prem games now is worth it if it then prevents a move to a champions league side in the same way that Zaha has been unable to get a move. If he believes he will be a top player and has aspirations of making champions league then I'd make the bigger jump and risk not starting right away or possibly being sent on loan.

Would absolutely love this but have serious doubts we will sign him, just don’t see it happening with everything going on and all of our needs. I’ve said it before but feel like we need to continue to get younger and bring in (either through promotion of academy talents or through purchases elsewhere) to really refresh this squad. For me, it’s all about laying the groundwork for when we are ready to challenge again for a title while still maintaining our standing as a Top 4 club in 2020/2021.

Not dissing the fella, but Just out of interest, how many times have you watched him play live?

I saw both him and Clarke (only 10mins, a late sub) v Bristol City before lockdown and Eze barely got in the game - lost the ball multiple times, was easily knocked out of his stride, little in the way of creativity - he just looked lost to be honest, as did Clarke.

Maybe I caught him (both) on a bad day?

This is why I find it mad that people would rather sign him than Brooks or say he is a better player than him. Brooks is an international player proven in the premier league. Chalk and cheese.

On a different note. West Ham sounds like they’d need sell Lanzini and Anderson to buy him

Rumors mention that QPR are after Amos. How talented is he? I also see a swap deal being mentioned

West Ham seem to be below us in the pecking order - I'd imagine we have first refusal over and above the spammers. I think we missed a trick last January, though - we went for Bergwijn instead of Bowen when we should've gone for both. Bowen looks every bit worth the hype he had around him - a constant attacking threat with a dangerous left foot. We passed on him in favour of Bergwijn and he went to Spammers for £19m.

If we fail to go for Eze it can only be because the defensive side of his game isn't up to it OR that José wants players that can break to play on the counter rather than playing football with swagger and style.

Would be very happy with Brooks as a home grown talent instead of Eze, though.

He strikes me as this years Grealish or Maddison, a player on a trajectory that if we don’t pick him up now, he’ll go play PL somewhere else and his value will double.
I think that makes sense in the curent climate to look at some players to pass in their direction. Amos is a no brainer, but Carter-Vickers is actually a good shout also. Plus a loan for someone like Parrott or Roles who has ability but needs to be tested at a more advanced level than they are currently turning out. Skipp could have been on that list also, but he probably needs a PL loan instead now he’s been involved with us in Prem games.

That depends on how good you think you are. You’re much more likely to shine at palace if you’re a good keeper. It rarely makes it to their front line...

He mentions alternatives - would suggest we’re looking for attacking mids

what’s mental though is that City are signing an absolute pearl of a player for 25m. How?

there'll be numerous corrupt financial reasons no doubt, probably far too complex for you or i to understand. If the fee seems low then there'll be funds allocated elsewhere to cover it. when you're as corrupt as they are, there's no such things as bargains.

His contract is up next summer so I’m guessing that’s why he’s so cheap. Not that city aren’t a bunch of corrupt financial doping sports washers though.

If Hercules is right it seems he's ours but Jose may veto him. Are we happy about that or not? Should we bring players like this in and tell the manager to manage it should we only buy his choices?

I'll take the positive in the fact that Levy seems keen on the deal but the only reason it may not happen is because of the availability of players in a similar position.

I don't think folk would be against the signing of young, up and coming talent at all in this instance.

I suppose it'd depend on the other possibilities are.
