I think he would force his way into the team like Dele did in his first season.

His dribbling alone (something the team severlay lacks) and composure separates him from everyone bar Ndombele and Lo Celso, he can impact the team immediately.

Sell who you need to and make room for him, players that are capable of making a difference and are very different to what we currently have and have had for ages.

I haven't seen much of him so how does his dribbling compare to someone like Moura? Is it speed, power, trickery based?

We've certainly missed someone who can wrong foot a defender and open up lots of space.

Don't remember Palace reaching the CL final though.

My point being that Kane has signed two new contracts during a time that he could’ve joined an immeasurably bigger club and it’s now very much out of his hands whether that ever happens for him during his prime. Yes, we are much better than palace. Kane is also much better than zaha

Well Kane hasn't tried to force a move or hand in a transfer request yet or asked to leave and then subsequently signed a new deal. Zaha has also gone on the record saying he want's to get Champions League football which isn't realistic at his current club. Kane on the other hand has said he's happy to stay at Spurs aslong as we head in the right direction and up until this season we have been on an upward trajectory where it looked like we could fulfil his desire of winning trophies. It's no shock that this season is the first murmurings of Kane wanting to leave (and why we got a serial trophy winner in to try and appease him). If Kane claims he wants to leave to win trophies and then signs a new deal then I'd say he's done the exact same but right now I consider them different scenarios.

I think you’re giving far too much weight to what these guys, who are under pr instruction of some description, say in public. Football history, particularly in the modern era, is awash with examples of footballers saying one thing publiclu and another thing in private. I’m not denying per se that Kane wanted to be here, nor that Zaha wanted to leave, I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy of aiming any derision at Zaha showing loyalty to the club who made him while we are all bloody chuffed about Kane doing the same for us.

Well for what it's worth; I do think Kane made an error in terms of his ability to control his future by signing that new deal. I think for him as an individual it wasn't a smart move if he wants to in the future force a move. For all of us who care more about Spurs than the individual it was a fantastic deal.

Signing Eze is a no-brainer to me, which is why it won't happen :shifty:

Ultimately I’m uncomfortable with any condemnation of loyalty when it’s such a rare commodity.

Why would immediately become our most creative player? If ranked on chances created per 90 mins this season, he'd rank is our 14th most creative player. If we, very generously, use his stats from last season, he'd rank as our 12th most creative player. I just don't see how he makes such a huge leap, just by putting on a Spurs shirt. I know Bournemouth see less of the ball than us, but Grealish played in a team then got 1 more point than Bournemouth and whose possession stats were almost identical to Bournemouth's, yet he'd rank as our most creative player. I just don't think he's that creative. He's certainly a talented young player, but I think many a getting carried away with him.

He did not play the full season and was coming back from a major injury and freak recurrence. The injury piece is a legit risk (although just one injury vs multiple). Any stats from him this season are about as valuable as how folks were looking at Kane’s first 4-5 games back (and Brooks’ lay-off was twice as long).

If Brooks is ultimately going to be the player he was during 18-19, he’s pure class. He obliterated some top 6 teams that year.

probably all a moot point as who knows whether he’s even part of the equation.

Yeah the Zaha situation has never felt like Loyalty as he seems to every season seemingly want to make a move. I think over the past 4 summers he's been earmarked as wanting a move and unhappy through the summer and then signs new deals. His manager has thrown him under the bus in that regard a fair few times including recently. Whilst Zaha should be commended for his loyalty once the window closes, the summer windows are at odds with it. A different example I'd give is Grealish who was open to leaving but then signed a new deal and for my money has shown nothing but loyalty to the cause ever since. This summer will be interesting for him and how he approaches it.

Holjberg and Eze would really improve us as a side. It would also allow us to think about moving Sissoko on which I think we need to do as he is simply so limited as a player

Now's the time with where he is contract wise.

He's in control and can go both ways.

The only Q? mark is his defensive contribution - there's no highlight reel for that... :cautious:

Otherwise, sign the kid up already!

In the loan deal, we agreed a fee for Gedson with Benfica of £45m if we make the move permanent. He doesn't look remotely worth that if you ask me...

Eze savings for Levy

Herc has said its nowhere near that figure, would only be that high if we won PL/CL which is probably unlikely!

I think Eze looks a cracking prospect, but there is no way he is suited to play for Mourinho. He’d be advised to look at how many minutes Sessegnon and Ndombele are getting whilst less talented but more disciplined players like Sissoko are picked. Levy needs to focus on getting the 2 or 3 players Mourinho wants otherwise we’re not going to get better.
