Bentley had his best game for us i thought, his crossing was very good, just no one could get on the end of them.

Lennon was MOTM, no idea why he came off.

Bent and campbell were static in attack, too close to each other, no attacking the ball that i could see. Two new strikers in January please!

we played well, just let down by the strikers

Gomes - 6 A few iffy moments, no chance for the goal.
Gunter - 6 Solid but unspectacular
Corluka - 6 Decent game, looks very slow though
Woody - 6 Not his best game
Bale - 5 Looks really out of form
Lennon - 7 Our most dangerous player, subbing him was criminal
Jenas - 7 Gave his all, industrious, one of the few who look like they REALLY want to get us out of this mess
Modric - 5 Still adapting, lots poor errors yet showed glimpses on why we should not write him off
Zokora - 6 Erratic but he's definitely trying and you can't fault that
Pavs - 5 Not on for long, didn't do much
Campbell - 4 Ran his socks off, clearly has a big heart but today was one of those days - he wouldn't have controlled a bag of cement. Like him though.

Bent - 5 Tried hard but thats all I can say
Bentley - 5 Put in a couple of good crosses but very unconvincing nevertheless
Gio - 4 Feel sorry for him but nothing came off for him today in his limited time

That was the weird thing...Lennon/Bentley combo was causing havoc with Hull and Ramos took Lennon off. I thought Gio would come in for Zokora, Jenas or Modric and stay on the left, working with Bale like the Bentley/Lennon combo. That was the worst bit of tactical decision by Ramos in the match.

Gomez - 6 Solid enough i guess.
Gunter - 6 As above
Corluka - 5.5 Didnt really have to do alot but not to bad
Woodgate - 6.5 Thought he wasnt to bad
Bale - 7.25 Thought he was exceptional considering he had to take to whole left side himself would have been better if his final ball was a tiny bit better.
Lennon - 7 Very nippy and was abit of a threat all night crosses would be nice tho.
Jenas - 7.5 I personally thought he put a few nice challenges in about time he got agressive and got booked a few times. Very little good passing tho i might add.
Modric - 7 Thought he was not to bad still needs to get his confidence up and get things rolling for us.
Zokora - 6.5 Did his job as usual nothing exceptional still thinks he can shoot like Gerrard..
Cambell - 5 Thought he was puss today worked hard enough but was very uninfluential and looked frustrated
Pav - 4.5 .........

SUBS
Bent - 5.5 Average performance at best
Bentley - 6 Looked like he wanted to make a point.
Gio - 6 quite nippy abit of a pussy tho

from the sky highlights jj looked more creative than modric and put in some god crosses/passes that could have resulted in goals from more confident/accomplished strikers

and of course he was the most aggressive mid too

probably a MOTM performance for us - and somebody gave him 0 -

agree about incorrect to take lennon off - but certainly would have been completely wrong to take zoko or jj off - and modric was getting more into the game 2nd half so it would have been counter productive on many levels to take him off
I guess JR wanted to give GDS a go and couln't risk losing anymore defenders

sometimes being a manager is almost impossible - but yes he and Levy etc all must take their share of blame etc

yes DC_Boy, Jenas was good yesterday, and agreed about this one

i was hoping for Giovani instead of Campbell, rather than Lennon. May be Ramos wanted to keep him with Bent to see 2 natural strikers. Yes the creative wasn't problem but Campbell was very poor.

Gomes - 5 A few iffy moments, a bit flat footed for the goal but not really his fault.
Gunter - 5 Solid without offering much else
Corluka - 6 OK game, looks too slow though
Woody - 5 Not at his best.
Bale - 6 Tried relentlessly, but had little help on the left and therefore failed.
Lennon - 7 Our most dangerous player, final ball was wayward as usual, but did look to make things happen, especially when Bentley played in tendem
Jenas - 7 Tried hard, industrious, and had an ok game but with his talent he should be controlling the midfield, and he just doesn't.
Modric - 5 Not sure what to say, make simple passes look easy, but i was expecting so much more and to date in all the matches he has played have not even seen one glimpse of this.
Zokora - 6 If only he could pass and shoot he would be world class, all the energy, pace and endeavour in the world, but technically a poor player.
Pavs - 5 Seems to still be on a different continent to the rest, until he has adapted, not sure he should be in the starting team.
Campbell - 5 Tried hard all afternoon, but has yet t convince that he is of sufficient quality for the prem league let alone top 4.

Bent - 5 So much endeavour, but he is a loner up front, and not sure any team that he plays in will ever be successful, but will score goals. Certainly offers more than pav at the moment, but never will be a spurs palyer.
Bentley - 6 Added something when brought on, forced Hull to change, and worked well with lennon, brought a final ball potency that had been missing.
Gio - 4 Offered little when brought on, and quite frankly should never have been brought on, lennon should have stayed on. I am sure he could be ok in a winning team, but not the type of person need in the present situation.

On the whole and having watched the previous matches through covered eyes, the perfromance yesterday was better, yes it wasn't a good preformance, and the quality was totally lacking, but the endeavour and will was certainly there and they didn't deserve to lose the game.

Gomes 5 - Left flat footed 2 many times, & should of attempted to save freekick

Gunter 6 - linked up with Lennon well, but pretty anonimous

Corluka 6 - Strongest defender for us, not saying much tho very slow.

Woodgate 5 - He has been our best defender since he signed but is not performing, unlucky not to score tho!

Bale 7 - had a cracking freekick was unlucky not to score, & ran the length of the pitch for 90 mins, 1 of our brighter players

Zokora 7 - 1 of our better players, but for the love of jebus, dont shoot!

Jenas 4 - Headless chicken, you knew he was gonna get booked as soon as he got up from 1st tackle!

Modric 5.5 - He's starting to show he's adapting to the EPL & looks like he will be a great player for us, but has a long way to go!

Lennon 8 - Spurs motm imo constantly looking for the ball to run at defenders, his delivery is still off, but it looks like its improving. Was shocked to see him subbed!

Pavlyuchenko 5 - a couple of bad misses before getting injured, he needs more support upfront.

Campbell 5 - was determined, but was trying to hard, not his best performance for us.

SUBS

Bent 4 - should of scored, pretty anonimus

Bentley 6 - His delivery is improving for us, but didn't do enough to warrent being in the team ahead of Lennon.

Dos Santos 5 - worst performance I have seen from him

I was at the game and I thought it was our best performance for a while. All that was lacking was goals. It was a very frustrating afternoon, not least because the idiots behind me were giving huge amounts of stick to every player for what they deemed to be poor play. It was in the interests of self preservation that I didn't turn round and swear at them. Anyway, we looked much more like a team today and I was happy with ramos' team selection. With modric on the left but drifting in and bale having the whole left hand side to himself it was reminicent of the 442 employed by jol.

Gomes has a decent game. He couldn't have done anything about the goal and looked reasonable at other times. The defence weren't really tested for most of the game as after about 30-40 minutes hull sat back and weren't interested in attacking. However in the first 30 minutes hull carved our defence open twice. Once was very reminicent of the wisla goal at the lane and the other was when Marney hit the post. Woodgate was solid but not the colossus he has been in the past. It's the first time I've seen corluka at centre back and I was very surprised at how slow he was and the fact that when he heads the ball he doesn't seem to be too concerned about which direction it goes. Gunter was okay but failed to reproduce the run he made in the first minute. Bale was good but most of his work was in midfield and attack.

Gomes 6
Gunter 6
Corluka 5
Woodgate 7
Bale 7

In midfield I though jenas had a good game and was probably my man of the match. I wonder how many of the people who have given him very low marks had already decided what to rate him before the game had already kicked off. Along with zokora, jenas worked his socks off modric look okay but I'm still waiting for more from him. Lennon looked lively but didn't seem as effective as the game went on. Maybe that was because hull dropped deeper and there wasn't as much space to work in. I was surprised when he was removed for dos santos. I guessed ramos thought we had bentley down the right and dos santos might be able to make something happen through the middle. It didn't work. Bentley looked better than I have seen him this season. He put 3 or 4 quality crosses in within a few minutes of coming on.

Modric 6
Zokora 7

It makes me sick how Zokora gets so much praise. Yes he makes the odd probing run, and yes every now and then he manages to cover our full backs with his pace...but for the majority of the game he stands, strolls and gives the opposition far too much space to pull the strings.

His positional sense for a DEFENSIVE midfielder is nothing short of disgraceful.

I agree with Ray Houghton on talksport when he said that he has to laugh at the thought of Zokora playing in a top premeirship side.

How come when JJ played alongside a decent defensive midfielder in Carrick that we kept our most clean sheets??

He does the work of two central midfielders - get rid of Zokora.

Bad news fella. He ISNT a defensive midfielder. I have finally realised that he is a box to box midfielder who just can't shoot, that doesn't make him defensive.

so who is then? what ever happened to the Maestro?

of course thats his position, he aint box to box, he gets a rush of blood every now and then and bombs forward. he's a liability.

That was a brilliant laugh out loud moment. It was in the first half and occured near the left hand side of the pitch, just outside the box. One for a spot the ball contest methinks.

Some good analysis in there, especially the observation about Hull dropping deeper and space becoming squeezed. This was exactly the problem. How many times have we seen this at the lane. Teams sitting back the whole game gets condensed into the space at the top of their box and edge of the centre circle. Very, very difficult to break down.

But also Bent had two fantastic chances. One beautifully created by Modric and the other he was incapable due to technical deficiency to hit first time, took a touch and the chance went.
