Not sure why Toby is dropped (maybe I missed some injury status) but it's exciting to see Rodon start. Hope he is disciplined enough to help our right side when Aurier is out of position. Also I hope Bergwijn gets more attacking freedom but he will probably have to babysit Aurier and Rodon.

Once again the only goal threat is Son and Kane. Bale, Lamela, Dele all know where the goal is and either benched or axed. Quite why we need an extra defender to make a back 5 against bottom of the league is beyond me. Sigh.

3 at the back in possession and 5 at the back out of possession. Seeing as we spend three quarters of the game out of possession, we’re essentially playing 5 at the back.

You’ve got a spare CB essentially covering the full back on both sides and Bale still can’t be trusted? What is the fucking point? We all know he won’t come off the bench so why not have the balls to start him at least once?

Don’t even get me started on Gedson fucking Fernandes getting a spot on the bench over Dele.

I think this is OTT tbh (apart from the Dele bit).

In possession we should have a bit of width which is where a lot of our chances came from against Fulham, and Sheffield will likely try and plug the middle so could be a good outlet.

Regarding Bale, for me he's done nothing to prove he should be in ahead of Bergwijn. Bergwijn might have missed a few chances but outside of that he's been playing well and this is probably a good game for him to try and build some confidence in front of goal. It's really not that negative imo.

Winks goes from starting last game to no even on the bench? What kind of managing is this?
bergwijn...doesnt really think he has proved anything the lsat months. Why not Bale, dele or lamela? Gues Jose picks bergwijn because he does well in training. But he doesnt do that well in games...that doesnt count for anything??

Why the complaining about the lineup/formation. To me it’s clear when we face a team who play a back 3/5, Jose likes to match up. Remember wolves a couple weeks ago, it was meant to be a back 3/5 as wolves usually play a back 3/5, but we quickly realized they were playing a back 4, and reguilon ended up moving to left mid after about 15-20 mins. For me, I think it’ll be our wing backs pushing high to keep their wing backs pinned back, not defensive at all imo provided aurier and reguilon have the freedom to bomb forward.

Losing Dele at this point would be no loss whatsoever, he contributes basically nothing.
