Can only echo the sentiments here - this couldn't have come at a better time for him personally and the confidence, relief and satisfaction it must've provided him amounts to much more than stats showing simply a goal and an assist.

So pleased for him on a human level but equally this can be a real catalyst for his career at Spurs and we can all get behind that!

I still think the best thing he did all week was being brave enough to speak up about his struggles. He deserves this. His bravery will help others. What a man.

Nice to see Son push him into the celebrations after the game too. Hopefully he is feeling better about himself. I said a few weeks ago Perisic crossing to Richarlison will be a good plan b at times. He's very good in the air but haven't played to it enough. Also showed nice composure for the assist. He could have easily looked to go alone.

What I found most significant is that he had got the equaliser and then he was in a position to maybe clinch the winner, but it was a difficult chance and he recognised that Kulu was in a better position so he gave the ball up. Someone who is super high on confidence after having grabbed the equaliser usually sees their name in lights and takes the shot, which is a low-IQ play and all for glory. And equally, someone low on confidence and also wants to snatch some glory also takes the low-IQ play, hoping it gets them back in form.

I’m so glad he put Kulu in instead, it has provided the perfect teachable moment for him that, regardless of his confidence at any given time, as long as he plays for his teammates he can’t do much wrong.

Also noticed that upon scoring he went towards the goal to pick the ball up. someone else had already done it so he kept running back to center. The perfect type of celebration for the moment. Heads up thinking and it wasn't about him at the moment.

Not really a fan of Richy but delighted for him that he scored and assisted. Hopefully he has turned a corner.

Never been happier to see him score. Thoroughly deserved.
I felt the same in 1981 when Ricky Villa scored in the replay (his first one of the night)
Good luck to Rickie now and get ready to strike again next week at the library!
