Morning all
Another day goes by and no Soldado. One hopes that having walked away from the deal we're working on an alternative? Or are we going to spunk a week or two playing silly buggers? I mean, at the very least as a fallback option. I hope so. This is how Fraizer Campbell nightmares begin.
Although SC has shown remarkable restraint as there hasn't been all that much cock brandishing about Levy yet, although a few BSoDL's & A-L's have had a slight flexing of the muscles. I feel this one is going to explode at some point. Probably when we fail to sign him.
We also had ITK about Coentrao. Dunno, not fussed. Striker please. You listening dwarf?
Anyway, it's hot, can't be arsed, short thread.
Onions
Oh and today's word of the day = Failure.

Ever the optimist A&C!

Think Soldado will be done by Saturday either way.

Coentrao seems another of them Jesse, Rebic rumours will wait and see if it pans out.

Prediction that AVB eats the next journalist to ask him about Bale.

Good moonin'

Reckon Soldado will be ours this window at some point. Just prefer it to be this week.

Was nice reading the ITK re Coentrao too. Get these two lads and we're well in with a shout this coming season.

Wonder if they asked him if he was a wheeler dealer?

Re: Coentrao. We shouldn't do any business with RM. Any conversation is likely to get round to Bale and I'd suggest that a favourable deal for any of their players would imply that RM are entitled Bale at a discount. At least, Perez and the others would want it seen this way.

Next monday we could have a squad containing Coentrao and Solado or one with neither and be minus a bale. It's Tottenham, you just never know.....

Alternatively get coentrao and he can spend the rest of the season telling bale how glad he is to have left madrid as it almost destroyed his career.

As long as any Bale deal is not part of the discussions. He's a decent enough player... but maybe it's better to just not deal with them, like we do with Chelsea.

I am wondering what would be their asking price? EUR 15M?

We don't have to convince Madrid to sell Coentrao, they want him to go. He isn't even training with the team. I'm sure they would ask about a Bale deal or some sort of incentive as part of the transfer, but I don't think they would refuse to deal with us if we rejected that idea, because 1. they will still want Bale next year and pissing us off won't help, and 2. they'll be getting paid for a player who they don't want moving to a team in a different league.

Pissing us off hasn't seemed to stop them this summer.

Have we walked away? Where are you hearing this from?
The last itk on soldado in the ro is the cobra saying pretty much done.

ITK has pretty much all been positive, media reports have been mostly neutral. If it wasn't for Moutinho/Leandro/Benteke/etc. we would all be pretty optimistic. But we've been hurt before, and each of those times started a lot like this...

Come on, Archie. Down off the ledge, fella. And take the rope from round your neck. It'll all be fine. Don't worry.

I know the nasty men said those nasty things, but it's all going to work out, you see if it won't. There, there. Good lad. That's it. Just have a little cry and it'll all feel better in the morning.

Can we all just go easy on A&C, please? He's clearly having a tough time, so obviously any spam, pics, videos or the t-word stuff today may send him over the edge. Play nicely, kids. (y)

The cuckoo's nest
25.7.2013.

Dear fellow inmates,

At times like this we should try to remember what McMurphy tried to teach us before he was so cruelly lobotomised by the BSoDL everything is fine brigade. There is a wide world of possibilities, and more important stuff out there, and we need to try to keep some perspective.

So at least no-one should be wasting their time worrying about Arsenal signing Soldado.(we'll get him 'tho)

No, you should be worrying about Arsenal signing Suarez. (That's going to be a whole other dimension of nightmare).

… And united signing Fabregas, Chelsea signing Rooney, city signing all the players they already signed. FFS, you really need to get a grip. What kind of lightweight worriers are you?

Best wishes,
Greaves4FR (the wild-eyed one)

PS. What do you have two do to get a tart round here? A&C, aren't you in charge of smuggling them in? And don't forget a hunky one for hottie. My £25 contribution is belatedly on its way, and I know what I want it spending on.

If coentrao does sign this could mean bae is off. This could save us a lot of money as if we didn't have bar's wayward shooting we could reduce the amount of ball boys at the lane by half....
