Tottenham are lining up a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Bas Dost following Jose Mourinho's complaints about the laziness of his squad. The former Dutch international has been identified by the manager as the hard-working target-man he wants to provide back-up to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, as well as an alternative option off the bench.

I won't be excited until we're in talks with his entourage.

Frankfurt were inconsistent last season, but he looked canny in what Bundesliga I saw. Uninspiring target though.

That's more like it. A believable story. All the while we are tricked into listening to BS about a possible Bale return when this is the level we really operate at.

Not sure we can hope for someone better for a backup
And that's why Kane doesn't really pull his weight in matches, as he didn’t on Sunday. He knows he's untouchable and adored regardless of poor effort. And any potential signing knows that too. So why bother?

Presume Levy will slap an offer of 25k on the table (plus some Mr Byrite vouchers that expired in 1979).

didnt he get like 45 goals in a row purely from first touch finishes. Was insane for Lisbon, but they set up purely for him, if our players struggle to set up harry, doubt Dost will fair any better
