Excellent response lol.. But yes he paid for his crime. He also turned his life around and played at a high professional level.
I don't think Troy will let anyone down is what I'm trying to say.
I was being a dick, so I hope it’s taken in the humour intended.

I actually think he’s got a good year in him at this level still and much like Costa would being an aggression to training and the dressing room which can’t hurt, but I’m hoping that if we’re taking this long to get someone it’s because we’ve set our sights a bit higher.

Until his already failing knees fail in week 2 of training lol

I disagree about Deeney being a good option. Good pro sure. But he was never particularly great (Good at bullying players) and his legs are going so you're losing his best attribute.

I'm hoping for Edouard at Celtic.

Another leader who takes no shit, could do worse.

Arsenal hate him as well.

Not top of my list by any means but I wouldn't be against him joining as a last minute fall back option. He's a shithouse and will cause problems against any team we play. Also seems like a good character around the dressing room, which follows a theme with the other signings we have made this summer.

This entire thread reads like victims of Stockholm Syndrome in the acceptance stage. He gives a good interview and suddenly we’re OK with Levy fucking around for 3 windows and leaving us with a post-injury Troy Deeney??

Let’s be honest, he’d be an awful signing. Only managed 5 goals from open play last season, has barely any mobility, and is massively limited in his skill set. Needs good and consistent delivery to have any chance of scoring and we currently don’t have players who offer that. And yeah, his attitude may have been helpful in galvanising poor players in the championship and at the bottom end of the table, but I fail to see how the likes of Kane, Alderweireld, Lloris etc would take him seriously as a leader. Compare him to Joe Hart for example, who isn’t much of a player these days, but does have pedigree and history of playing at an elite level, so he’s still worth listening to. Deeney has never performed at a level higher than mid to lower table Prem. Would stay well clear even things are becoming desperate.

Just get him in, if we manage diallo or another foreign striker great but they will take time to settle.

Troy gives us backup NOW. Not perfect but we're playing against some plodders from Bulgaria and he can go straight into the 11. Europa and CC starter.

All the other HG options have gone. Just sign him now and stop pissing about. If he doesn't work or gets injured we have not lost much.

Hard to disagree with this but it's impossible to say if we don't know exactly what other irons are in the fire

Still likely to be WBA

My informant said he simply wouldn’t fit in at Spurs. Nice guy but has to be the main man in the dressing room and very vocal about it.
Said he’s perfect to go somewhere in Championship and be a captain, or to a newly promoted side.

He is still putting up a decent number of appearances, would he be happy to sit on the bench?
