A lot of that can be leveled at VDV.

You have to have the mix of dour workmen and someone who can do the unexpected in pressure situations.

He has that Ginola factor. Why would you want him to do the dirty work?

No it can't...do you actually watch any of our games?

VDV has a tremendous workrate and is ALWAYS trying to make things happen for the team.

It's laughable that the biggest critic of the supposed "Spice Boys" culture at Spurs should be advocating buying perhaps the biggest Spice Boy in world football.

The guy has been on a downward slide for the last 4 years and is definitely not what we need. He can't even hack it in the pedestrian Serie A, so how's he going to cope in the EPL?

gibbsy is an utter mong

Leave poor ole gibbsy alone, he has his views and the right to express them. Everyone is entitled and you can either discuss with him or simply ignore him, no need for personal insults because his views seem so very wrong to most of us.

Personally I like his conviction to his belief's, he reminds me of Spursking and their presence on such message boards provides entertainment and provokes discussion, better than having everyone agreeing with everyone else at all times no? I think so anyway.

We'd be better off signing Beckham. Better team player, who doesn't have to go back to Brazil for canival every year, better professional for some of the lads to learn from and would also sell a load more shirts from the commercial side.

Beckham is 35, Ronaldinho is 30 so Beckham very much is past it at the top level no matter what he does were as if someone could get Ronaldinho motivated again and in top shape he'd still be a top top triffic player

Ronnie was top quality last season again and this season he just hasn't played for what ever reason but he still has 3 assists in 4 appearances. This guy could still be top 5 in the world if someone got him motivated again imho he is a very special player.

I would consider him on a 6 month or 12 month loan to see if he still has it, if he can adapt then maybe sign him proper

Last season I thought he was Milans best player. I still remember him tearing Madrid apart in the group stage of the Champions League in the best performance any player put in anywhere for the whole of last season. This season it seems to have gone sour, though there is still the odd moment of magic.

If Harry could get him to even 80% of the old Ronnie then it would be a masterstroke. Big question marks over whether it's possible.

Head says not sure, heart says yes yes yes.

HR was in the press saying that VDV had to improve on that aspect. And he has. VDV is an absolute monster. But I doubt he is doing as much running as Crouch over 90 mins. Nor do I want him to. Kinda my point.

As for your Spice Boys comment, if JJ, Bentley etc had to potential to score a combined 35 goals and assistrs in one season, I think I can turn a blind eye. Anyway, it's "Spice Boys" not Spice Boy. My whole point a few years back was we had too many at the same time. HR has addressed that. I am delighted with what HR has done in that respect.

Ronaldo is like Ginola: Why on earth would you want him to track back?

8 million Euros. My heart and head says yes.

Lets not talk about wages though. Because it isn't happening at all is it?

I tend not to think about the financial side that much purely because I know any player we sign, Levy won't abandon his financial principles. If we got Ronnie, it would be on our terms, just as with any other player Levy signs.

I actually agree with you on the 'why would you want Ronnie to muck in' issue. He'd have to work hard in an attacking sense, make himself available for every pass, be brave with trying to create rather than take easy options and easy passes, but I wouldn't want him wasting his energy doing donkey work.

He is not comming to spurs but people are forgeting Ronaldinho has been very good for Milan these last few seasons. Not what he once was but he has re-invented himself as a diffrent kind of player at Milan and has played well. He struggles to get through 90 mins but can play as a winger, CM or behind the striker, he is a lot more direct then he once was and is still a class player.

That maybe so but the pace of the English game would mean he would be required to reinvent himself again.

Having watched several Seria A matches live in the Olympic stadium ROme I have seen with my own eyes just how different their game is to ours. At his age I think he would struggle greatly with the pace of our league and I am not so sure he is up for the challenge any more.

He would probably prefer/be better off following Beckham and Henry across the pond to play in the MLS (unless he wants to be in touching distance of his BArca villa at all times)

Either way I just don't see this happening so although it may be fun to discuss it is probably inconsequential (especially as there has been no links or rumours regarding us even being in for him)

If he knuckled down, trained hard and gave 100% on the pitch then this could be an immense signing, I really think we should be taking a real good look at this particularly with Harry's record of rejuvenating players in their later careers, Look how well Gallas has turned out so far and he's 3 years senior to Ronaldinho. Go for it, If we get £6 million for Keane then it's worth using that money for Ronaldinho IMO, It's better to try it then look back 5 years down the line and wonder what might have been if only we'd taken the gamble.

Don't get me wrong, It could fail epically, but if it worked, Oh my! Lennon, Bale, Modric, Van Der Vaart, Ronaldinho. What dreams are made of :hump:

Yep, Which is why I would give this one serious consideration, Redknapp would be drooling over this, Redknapp the manager to get Ronaldinho back to his best, wouldn't be bad press for Redknapp would it.

I wonder what Levy's thoughts on this would be. Think of the shirt sales and other merchandise. The publicity, Gomes, Sandro and Ronaldinho all at the Lane, Most of Brazil would be watching.

we should get Ronaldinho and Beckham. Then give Zidane and fat Ronaldo a call, I here they are free agents.

It would be the slowest team in world football but at least we would win the pass completion league.

We could line up

...........Ronaldo
..................Ronaldinho

Bale...Zidane...Modric...Beckham

On a serious note, we should sign the ugly fecker. his record at Milan is good. Harry would take care of him. It would also do us the world of good in the publicity stakes too.
