Bet 365 runs very easy double or nothing tournaments which are a good way to boost your bankroll when you start out. The more comfortable you get with real money play though, the more you should be aiming to finish top 2 in a regular sng and take a bigger share of the pot.

Pokerstars ran these for a while, but then realised that there was nefarious bevahiour from the far east with 4/5 players registering for the same tournaments every time, and not actively pursuing each other. It became apparent that they were too easy to fix. Its why they now have fifty50 SnGs instead

Does anybody know where I can find pokerstove again? I reformatted and lost it and now the site it was on seems to be taken over.

Cheers

Anybody playing 'Zoom' on Pokerstars?

It's really great, 4 tables max at a time but you can still play a thousand hands an hour this way!

If you could pay 8 tables at once it would be perfect!

It was people who could make a living of playing poker online a few years ago, but the advantage has changed now, so I don't think we have a lot of people actually making money from poker long term nowadays.

Actually you're not right there SK, now is the best time for 5-6 years to play online poker, if you have the time and depending how much 'a living is' its very possible to do it playing online poker.

I found it difficult to play my normal game and my results were varied, I stopped playing it because my bankroll was leaking away and I won more from SnG's. Loads of people seem to fold untill they get AA or KK, in theory this is good because you just need better than one pair to win, but loads of them seemed to make sets or full houses against me, probably just a bad run but it put me off.

My bankroll is very low now anyway though, I had a shocking run of playing bad and running bad which has meant I can only play super low stakes games. If I had the time I would love to try to make a moderate living from poker, I'm not good enough though lol. Full respect to anyone who can make it work though, it takes guts and there must be plenty of horror stories about people who've tried and failed.

The biggest problem is that people who are good dont play enough to overcome the variance!

I'm not sure that you can make a living fro. Sit n go's because of the variance, one bad beat and you're gone, whereas in cash you can constantly top up to 100BB's and a bad beat is just a bad beat.

You need to play 100,000 cash hands to know what your bb to 100 hands is, but by the time you play a million hands a a stake you will know for sure what your bb per 100 is at that level.

Playing Zoom or speed poker on 2 different sites at once, so 8 tables at a time will allow you to play circa 2000 hands per hour. however you do need to be pretty sharp to play 8 tables of speed poker.
