The management team knew that before we kicked a ball in anger. We let a recognised left back go out on loan. Naugthon's mistake nearly cost us a goal and a sending off (in my opinion) today. If we want to be serious about finishing in the top four then we do need a proper left back to play behind or in front of Rose in the pecking order. Fucking obvious.

I rate him v highly but have to be totally honest, when we were struggling towards the end to score I actually said we should put Holtby on in his place with 15 to go! Shows how much I know.

There is nothing wrong with saying Naughton wasn't good enough to play at LB today. He wasn't.
Thats not a personal attack on the lad, its a simple fact.

His forward play was ok, but defensive errors and passing were too wayward and it shows how lacking in depth we are in that position.

Heck there is still a question mark over Rose and with him injured we look delicate on the left flank.

I would say if January were coming up right now, i would be looking at a LB for sure, just depends on Rose whether we are looking for a 1st choice one or a proper back-up/ challenger.

Naughton is a kid who will always be a squad player at spurs, Who helps out when you're short of players. Thats ok, im glad we had him today as we dont have any other player other than Vertonghen who can play there.

But lets not attack a fellow supporter when they claim a player didn't cut the mustard when its simply a true statement and not some personal vendetta.

Agreed.

And he turns half chance volleys into good attempts. Unlucky the keeper was on his game today.

All bodes well, we created chances from open play, and defensively, another clean sheet.
