Well it shouldn't - they need to man the fuck up Quite Frankly.
Seriously? It's not even the players. It's that you spend at least 3 days prepping/traveling/playing the European match. It takes 3 days away from your preparation for a league match, which is a big deal.

The thing is our problem is always the same thing, we can't break down teams who put 10 behind the ball, and we create our own mistakes (and plenty of them with these two CBs).

Well this is what you get with AVB..... Oh wait, he's not the manager.

I wonder if its the players fault?

People have been building up Pochettino's ability to improve the team far too much. It's as if some think he has some magical footballing scheme that leads to countless clear cut chances being created irrespective of the personnel he deploys. He failed at Espanyol for a reason. He didn't have the players, and going forward, it's going to be very difficult for him to do any better than the 69 points we earned last season under Sherwood and AVB without us spending without selling key players.

On the other hand, he deserves plenty of blame for leaving Vertonghen out of this game and on the bech. It's clear he's far superior to Chiriches and Kaboul, and those two playing created an atmosphere of tension that put a lot of pressure on the rest of the players. Say what you want about Vertonghen's attitude, he's a FAR superior player than those two we started and a calming influence with Lloris at the back.

Pochettino better learn from his mistakes quick. This isn't Southampton. 57 points isn't going to get you plaudits here. It'll have you on the hot seat, so to the extent he needs certain players to help instill his philosophy, he better be very tough with Levy come January in pushing him to improve the squad.

Pointless ENIC building a new stadium when they need to build a new team.

Actually that is the first thing they should have done. Look at Arsenal and they say the increase in capacity over the years means they can buy a £40M player every year if they want.

This stadium issue has been going on for years and Levy and Co. still can't seal the deal.

They need to sell up and fuck off now.

I'm surprised that people are surprised.

We made a net profit of £6 Million in the summer transfer window.

We were one of only two clubs who made profit last summer with the likes of Everton having a net spend of 33Million, Hull 25Million, West Brom 13Million, West Ham 31Million, Newcastle 21Million etc etc...

I'm perplexed as to why people expect us to improved this season where it's in fact everyone else who's spent and improved.

And for all those who bang the drum for last summers signings, it was another transfer window where the club made a profit.

You get what you pay for - simple as that.

I disagree, its easy to have an opinion like this when we are playing shit. AVB was tactically clueless too lets face it. Name the last Spurs manager that was tactically spot on?
It will get better I'm sure of it, it really hurts at the moment though. The players are to blame here not the manager.

The players are exactly as static and lost as they were under AVB. Sacking him hasn't changed a single thing.

Dropping Vertonghen is inexcusable.
Our entire attacking performance was not abject because we didn't play verts. he should be in the team but don't use that as an excuse for how horrible that performance was. We have players that consistently give the ball away, don't make runs and don't put in any effort.

Also there is clearly an issue with verts considering his quotes about a new contract and the distinct lack of one. Levy probably won't pay what he wants

Very poor match, we looked and played second best.
So hard not to be critical of your own team but we were out fought thought and out played on our own turf.
WBA could have won by 3 or even 4 clear goals.
We have zero speed in attack, preferring to pass sideways or beat a man then stop !
Do not understand letting Holtby go, maybe not everyone favourite player but would be way better than Paulino, he must be the worst Brazillian ever .
Thankfully we missed Leicester today !
Arsenal next, really looking forward to that.
Has MoPo changed anything from the dross AVB served up .
Was pleased to see Harry go but he did give us some serious entertainment.
Perhaps DeBoer would have been a better bet....MoPo looks out of his depth.
This and the Stadium fiasco is making a Spurs fans life hell !

Poch cannot escape criticism. Yes we have only played 7 competitive games so far but in none of them have we seen any sign of the supposed team pressing that Southampton did and I presume he wants us to play. To not even see any hint of it after 7 games (individuals running around on their own, or players battling for it when its in their immediate vicinity do not count) isn't good enough and is him letting players get away with it. He needs to be tougher and stop trying to ease his way in, if players, no matter what reputation/standing they have, aren't going to do what you want then don't play them.

I hope things get shaken up a bit, and we see encouraging signs soon, but there is so much to be addressed.

I don't see how there can be any complaints about this part of his post, this is EXACTLY what ENIC have created. We've gone miles backwards since we qualified for CL. But we're supposedly "Punching above our weight", and that makes it good enough I suppose? If that were under one manager SC would be ramped with posts calling for his head, but instead the architect of it all gets off scot free.

Brave post. You'll have the BSoL on you now. How dare you criticise the little bald genius. Don't you know we've got the best chairman in world football (supposedly)?!?!?

Bad day at the office, every team has them.
Man City 0 Stoke 1 see it happens.
I knew these days would happen and the team gets panned, rightly so, it was awful.
The season is long though and there will be other upsets, that's why the EPL is considered the most entertaining league.
I have faith in MP and judgement comes in May not September.
