If it really effects the players they need to sack up
I remember Sol Campbell going absolutely nuts at the crowd one day when they were giving Vega dogs abuse. I'm not saying that was a contributory factor on him fucking us I over but if I was a friend of a player getting that level of abuse I would not care two fucks for those fans.

Id rather have a club where the players and fans have a great rapport and the players feel supported and show they love that support by busting their nuts every week. (and not just those players that might do a trick or score a goal)

I went "there" what ever the fuck that means because that was the most visible outburst from a spurs player about a negative reaction to another player I've ever seen. But Vega was physically crushed in a couple of games to the point where he looked like he'd never played in his life.

And I'm not sure which part of that is defending Ade o_O

Fair enough, that might be your view, bit IMO a minority of idiots booing anyone gives the impression that they speak for the crowd, when that isn't true. Its not your right to speak for other people or to affect the atmosphere for others by being a negative **** at games. Not sure why I'm talking to you about games and atmosphere though, I don't think you really get it.

Yeah fair enough. You wasn't defending dear Ade. Just re read your post. I was mistaken.

Fans booing a player before they've even set foot on the pitch to play?

I can only assume they are thick to the point of being mentally challenged, or they actively want him to play badly and for us to lose.

Wrong. The fans have every right to boo someone if they are playing like shit, dont care, and cause trouble around the club. Every right to.
I'm assuming from your name, you don't get to many games? Hope so. Booing players can suck the life out of the fans and the team and lead to poor performances. If you've been to the Lane, you'd know that and know that it would cost us points. amazing how many put their own need to sulkily boo a player above the team they claim to support. Some "fans"

I genuinely think some of our fans are only happy when we're shit.

There are two kinds of fans in my opinion.

First, the kind who, when we score a last minute winner, celebrate like crazy because we've just won in the dying seconds.

Second, the kind who, when we score a last minute winner, moan that we've got lucky and that we're 'papering over cracks'

I hate 'holier than thou' fans as much as anyone, but booing a player as they come on is absolutely beyond the pale.

There has only ever been 2 players in my lifetime that have deserved this. Dear Ade is one. He is not wanted at the lane I'm afraid. I dare say internet forums are more forgiving but at the ground he is truly hated.

Loving the I'm a better fan than thou brigade.

Tres amusant if a little infantile.

I wouldn't call people who boo their own players fans but ho hum

Yep. I do love the holier than thou attitude from the dear ade fans. The irony is not lost on me.

I can't stand Adebayor and want us to sell him. Still think people who boo him are putting themselves above the needs of the team. That's what's really ironic if you ask me

Agree. It's a case of "Yes! [insert player here] was shit, so I can gain pleasure through bitching about him online and saying 'I told you so' to the pathetic people who support him!"

I don't like Ade, and I will be relieved when he's gone. But I want Spurs to win more than anything else on matchday, and booing our players (no matter who they are) will damage our chances of winning. For me, that isn't acceptable.

You can spot them in the match thread pre match "oh XXXX is playing, we're fucked them". If said player is average or below "fucking knew we was gonna lose this with XXXX playing, he's so shit". If player XXXX has a good game "well, it was only Sunderland, let's see XXXX keep it up or do it against good teams". Rinse and repeat.
