He and Bentaleb were awesome today, put in real shifts and imo that was key to the win

Whilst i love the way he rampages around the midfield, it's becoming apparent that he is much more an enforcer than a creator. Sure, his passing isn't bad, and he rarely looks to pass backwards, but his strength is quite obviously his fitness and willingness to attack the ball anywhere across the middle and not give the opposition a moment to think.

Taking nothing away from Bentaleb as he was superb today, that cross alone was worth his cheque, Mason i think would work best alongside a more conservative midfield playmaker, someone he can link with and who will be there to receive short balls from Mason, letting him choose to either bomb forward for the return ball, or stay and feast on the remains of the poor guy he's just slayed.

He isn't the answer to our midfield, whereas Bentaleb clearly has a far higher ceiling.

Decent player but feel he will be sold/become a squad player over the next season or so.

Like his passion and tenacity but lacks a sufficient amount of quality attributes to be a top player.

The 5.5 year contract suggests you don't know what you're talking about.

How anyone couldn't see his importance today suggests they don't know much about football IMO.

Perfect foil for other five midfielders/attackers. Beautiful performance. Passing was a touch off in places but only because he is tasked with getting the ball forward as quickly as possible. A key member of our side

People need to get past the fact that he gave the ball away a few times in the first 15-20 mins, its a HUGE game for our youngsters to play in and I am sure he was pumped up for it.
He played a poor pass that led to a dangerous situation........afterwards someone called over to him(might have been Eriksen or Rose) and gave him a bit of a gee up.
Fair play to the lad,he put his hand up and nodded his head in agreement.
After that I don't think he put a foot wrong for the rest of the game.
Played really well for the team today and along with Bentaleb owned the gooners midfield.

Was it Mason that Redknapp commented on a few years back saying he was brilliant but too slight to make it at any other club......well, he seems more than strong enough to me!

He was awful for 20 minutes. Every time he got the ball he have it away without completely even the most simple passes.
Fortunately he got over that bollocks as the game went on and ended up worthy of his place amongst the plaudits.
Well done.

he really set the tone today for us he absolutely worked his socks off and made sure arsenal's midfield knew that he was going to do anything possible to win the match ether by working harder then them, being cleverer then them or being more nastier. It carried over to the rest of the lads. It was a real shame he didnt get his goal today as he had a couple nice attempts today.

He's just had a stormer of a match and people are on here writing the rest of his career off. What on earth is wrong with some of you?!

My opinion of him gets higher every time I see him play. Him and Bentaleb together can become something special. They have a real understanding and play as a proper pivot. Neither of them are holding midfielders, they are busy ****s with great technical ability. Bentaleb, Mason, Stambouli, Alli, Winks, Onomah, Veljkovic.. We really have some talented young midfielders on our books!

The more games he plays he will only improve. I think he was a bit nervous in the beginning but shook them off and could have come away with a goal.

Those saying he isn't the long term answer...

It's his first season with us. He has suffered with injuries big time in the past otherwise he could have established himself a lot sooner. What I like about him is he can play. It isn't based on physicality
