The so called invincibles were only that because they drew so many games. They got their name from not being beaten rather than beating everybody.

Not to mention a lot of the games they drew they had help from the ref or they cheated their way to a point. Pires at Portsmouth instantly springs to mind.

Come on people, not only is it irrelevant but it's sounding very bitter. Maybe it wasn't in the most stylish way possible but going a whole season undefeated is a very impressive feat as much as it pains me to praise the scum. Sometimes you just have to put your hands up and accept something, like it or not

Anyway, as for Ings, all seems to have gone quiet. Maybe weighing up his options sensibly, and if so then hopefully that bodes well for us

Let's face it, it's probably because he's already chosen (not us).

Impressive but hardly invincibles - how did they do in the FA cup, league cup and the CL?
They lost in all three.
Preston NE were unbeaten in all competitions - that's why that team were given the title invincibles.
Please lets not fall for all the arsenal propaganda on this forum.

If we'd gone a league season unbeaten we'd ever never shut up about it. We'd give it an annoying nickname and bring it up at every opportunity too. And we'd also laugh at the few snide Arsenal fans that refused to acknowledge it "because we lost in the cups".

The more you deny it the more petty you seem and the more Arsenal fans will take the piss. Like y1dk1d said, sometimes you just gotta admit that your rivals have done something really impressive and move on.

You make it sound like they lost the first rounds. They made the semi finals in 2 and the quarter finals in the other.

This was not a debate I thought I'd have on here, let alone the Ings thread.
I'm very happy with my understanding of the word invincible.

tbf without a dive from Pires against Portsmouth they had lost that game 0-1 but they still would have won the league anyway so meh its the past and something I don't really want to relive anymore...
we need to get our act together and start winning things & not focus on anything the scum does.
lets let them obsess about us instead as usual.

Would be pretty funny if he ended up choosing us and all the "Get your own scouts" comments come out from the dippers.

Ok, I can understand the move to Liverpool - but still reckon he would've benefited much more if he'd come to us.

Ah well.........next!

It does feel they have done good business early and I'm worried we won't.

I know that's negative, but we don't seem to have any solid links to big players.

I hope I'm proved wrong.

It looked like he was always going to be staying up north. It would've been nice having two young English CF's in the team, but it's not the end of the world. We've got bigger areas to patch.
