You could see he's pissed off that he didn't score that great chance he had but thats a good thing, he looks really determined and for 18 looks like a real talent, much much better than Townesend on current form and than Townsend was at that age, allbeit different style of player.

Thing is you can't compare townsend and Onomah, they are two totally different players. Townsend is a winger whilst Onomah is a CM, who is wasted out on the wing as it doesn't allow him to find through balls or drive at the other midfield

Its worth noting at 18, he is probably the best player at our academy at this age. At his current age its between him and Veljkovic as the best player from our academy at that age.

If he wasn't in a great England age group he would be raved about like Edwards imo

Also worth noting today he played next to Carroll. The first time they played together and mason for that matter, in the U21's, Onomah was 15 years and 4 months old and hadnt even started year 11 at school.

A week or two later he partnered Bentaleb in the U18's in DM/CM(Bentaleb hadn't made his U21 debut yet)

Both Liverpool and Arsenal(and offered big money) have tried to nick him off us and credit to sherwood, he did well to convince his family to buy in to the "project"

This summer the bigger clubs were after him(City and Utd sniffing after him according to some papers)

Onomah is our youngest player we have used at the U21 age group iirc and made his debut before Bentaleb. I let that sink in for you guys considering how well Bentaleb has done since then

TBF 2 months ago they were doing better than us and still are in some aspects.

Baker, Christensen, Swift, Ake and Solanke are having good seasons, only problem is. Its not at chelsea.

That said they will have a very good youth team coming back to the club next season to push on for promotion

he didn't look out of place tonight, did he? thought he played at the same level as the rest of the team, and better than a few.

just another example of the synergy between the academy, pooch and the first team. everything is working in unison.

if i'm a young player, i'd LOVE to go to Spurs at the moment. you look at the trajectory of Dier, Alli, Josh, Bentaleb, Mason, Kane, etc and it's the place to be if you want to develop, get first team opportunities, and become a full international. at least that's what i'd have in my consideration set, if I had a choice between us Vs the big boys like Man City and Chelsea. Those teams swallow up promising youngsters and do NOTHING with them. It's a shame.

Big shame Patrick Roberts decided to go to City in the summer from Fulham. Real waste of a top young player who could've been in the group at Spurs - instead he's gone to a club which only bought him to up their quotas and prevent other teams from getting him, and he's been restricted to a grand total of 5 minutes in the PL - ironically enough, coming on for the last 5 against us when we smashed them 4-1.

Bad choice, son.

That's about as well as I've seen him play taking into consideration the opposition are in my opinion top class. Very impressive performance. Extremely composed for such a young guy and that really does bode well for the future. Think he's gonna be a big player for us!

Totally agree with this - think coming to Spurs would have been a good move for him, think he'd have fitted in well

Otherwise, I wait impatiently for a youtube video that some random uploads of Onomah's 90 vs. Monaco, inevitably set against some low-grade trance music with some kind of fade out at the end to make it seem cooler....the sad thing is that I lap it up every time...
