Of course he's raw, he's fucking 18.

Exactly so lets not go overboard like we do for every single you player that pulls on a shirt. Anyone remember Darren Caksey? Alton Thelwell?

Onomah doesnt do the right things for me to warrant a regular game.my opinon.

Based on previous evidence, your opinions are almost always wrong.

Still looks raw to me tbh. More often than not does the wrong things. Sorry. Maybe in 2 years.

Spam me, beeches.

Looked miles away before last night but was extremely impressed last night all be it against a very poor Monaco

Another great prospect

How is he going to gain experience if we never play him?

he didn't look out of place tonight, did he? thought he played at the same level as the rest of the team, and better than a few.

just another example of the synergy between the academy, pooch and the first team. everything is working in unison.

if i'm a young player, i'd LOVE to go to Spurs at the moment. you look at the trajectory of Dier, Alli, Josh, Bentaleb, Mason, Kane, etc and it's the place to be if you want to develop, get first team opportunities, and become a full international. at least that's what i'd have in my consideration set, if I had a choice between us Vs the big boys like Man City and Chelsea. Those teams swallow up promising youngsters and do NOTHING with them. It's a shame.
Some rumours coming out of Chelsea that Loftus-Cheek's contract is up next summer, and he's looking to leave if Jose is still there. He'd be a great understudy for Dier, with a bit of that Poch magic to polish him up.

Big shame Patrick Roberts decided to go to City in the summer from Fulham. Real waste of a top young player who could've been in the group at Spurs - instead he's gone to a club which only bought him to up their quotas and prevent other teams from getting him, and he's been restricted to a grand total of 5 minutes in the PL - ironically enough, coming on for the last 5 against us when we smashed them 4-1.

Bad choice, son.

We all said it in the summer and have been proved right. Roberts has just been badly advised by himself, his family and his agent.

So being selected with the best in your nation is not a clear sign?

That is maintaining th assumption that the very best get selected for their countries. They don't. Cambiasso and zanetti were dropped for the world cup weeks after winning the champions league with inter, which jonas was called up after playing in the championship with Newcastle.

The bar isnt exactly set high at the moment to get an England cap is it? Yet Rose still doesnt get a look in. At left back as well!

Haha fuck there are a couple of terrible calls in the last two pages. He's an 18 year old who has played important and impressive cameos coming off the bench in the Premier League against Aston Villa and West Ham and then he was outstanding last night in his full debut.

His off the ball positioning and movement, intelligent pass and move style, timing of his runs into the box from deep and his close control and dribbling against Monaco would have been incredibly impressive for a mature, senior player, let alone a teenager from the academy in his first senior start.

Loan? Like the rest of em?

Kane didn't really rip up trees on loan and it wasn't until he was thrown in that the touch paper ignited. Same as Ali who was thrown right in and has excelled, we have a far to negative response to people making mistakes or not making the right choices, he's young we shouldn't be hammering anyone at that age for making a mistake it's how he will learn.

I was talking to an American guy in work and he said the difference he has noticed from his family moving here is how he found there was nearly a suffocating fear about making mistakes opposed to how he was used to back home. From his own work all the way down to his kids in school. The way I see it if your too frightened of making a mistake or failing you will never strive to meet you full potential.

Which is an error in selection, not an error in performance. Hodgson being shit at selecting players does not make the players that he doesn't select shit. Lingard should be nowhere near that England side and we have countless players who would do a better job. It's not their fault that hodgson is an idiot. International caps are no indicator of quality. Trevor Sinclair has more caps than Matt le tissier.

I'd have Onomah in front of Chadli at the moment.
Quicker of mind and touch, more fluid in his movement.
Obviously would need to add goals/assists to justify this over time but I think there is enough there already to justify his inclusion in the matchday 16.

I know it sounds harsh, and a little disloyal, to players such as Nacer but I think we need to look at clearing a path to the starting eleven for our academy products to ensure they don't go anywhere at 18. Plus the money can go towards those positions the academy cannot provide for.

We do need to keep a big-ish squad, you know. Injuries will happen while we are competing in 4 competitions (3 now this year)

He's, clearly, going to be a huge player for us. If we hadn't have signed Alli, I would expect him to have made a much larger breakthrough for us. Could be special. only criticism (and it's not really that) would be his work rate off the ball but he'll learn that (especially playing for Poch)
