Bullshit team changes backfired for Woy.

Still...I think this will work in our favour for the next round.

As I understand it:

Hungary Portugal draw, Iceland Austria draw = Iceland 2nd.

Hungary beat Portugal, Iceland beat Austria = Iceland 2nd.

Portugal beat Hungary, Austria beat Iceland = either Hungary or Austria (with goal difference deciding it).

Hungary Portugal draw, Iceland beat Austria = either Hungary or Iceland (depending on goal difference).

Hungary Portugal Draw, Austria beat Iceland = Austria finish 2nd.

Hungary beat Portugal, Iceland Austria draw = Iceland finish 2nd.

Hungary beat Portugal, Austria beat Iceland = Austria finish 2nd.

Portugal beat Hungary, Iceland Austria draw = Hungary finish 2nd.

Portugal beat Hungary, Iceland beat Austria = either Iceland or Portugal finish 2nd (depending on goal difference).

So there you have it. The only way we end up playing Portugal is if they beat Hungary, but Iceland beat Austria by a bigger goal margin.

The one thing I will say is that we have been good first half in all 3 games but are just not taking chances. Once we settle on a team and take those chances we might put a good performance on. I certainly feel more confident that it may happen than in previous tournaments.

Do you trust Roy to find that team? I don't

The big positives are that Rose and Walker look like the best fullbacks in the competition and Dier looks like one of the best defensive mids by some distance.

If Kane had some decent support around him and Alli was not being pushed out of the game by Rooney constantly then we would have a full sweep.

Really proud of our lads.

How on earth can Woy say we created so many chances when we only had one shot on target?
Goals equal wins Woy, not passing sideways 40 yards from the oppo's goal

God Roy's interviews are painful 'never thought he'd see an England team dominate three games in a row like this'

Christ we've drawn with Russia / Slovakia and got a 92nd min win against bloody Wales

Meh, disappointing but I don't think we were as bad as some are making out on here especially with so many changes, as has been said we have played 3 teams who all set out to draw and that will change now we are into the knockout phases. None of the other teams have really been overly impressive either (apart from Spain v Turkey).

If Sturridge hadn't fluffed the ball through from Dier or Allis shot had gone in then happy days but fuck it we are still in it.

I still think this England side can win this thing. Dier will be the competition MOTM

It's painfully obvious we can't break down defensive sides. If we're in an open game, which Portugal will be, then we'll see more clear cut chances I think.

Gave up at half time to watch Game of Thrones, I was that confident it was going to be 0-0.

Hodgson HAS to go as soon as this is over. He's so many talented and in form players at his disposal, yet we keep getting served up this crap.
