Just think that even after a whole summer transfer window, we still lack that little a bit of experience. We've a great, young team, but just wish we had bought someone who's been there and done it in the Champion's League when required.

I have to agree with you here. Generally I'm happy with the youth of the side but I think tonight they could have done with a Gallas-like figure in the side just to steady the nerves a little, even if they weren't playing.

Probably been said already... but really don't like playing Dele as one of the two CMs, it's not where he can effect a game same as Utd playing Pogba there.

But then everyone was moaning about the Dier-Wanyama pairing, and most people were saying it would be a bit risky to start Dembele after not playing competitively for a while. So it kind of made sense on paper but the reality is Dele's attacking instincts are too great now and he just left Dier isolated, like you say exactly how Pogba did with Fellaini. Ideally i'd like to see a midfield 3 of Alli - Dier - Dembele, but Poch only plays 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2.

It was all Son's fault.

If he hadn't played so well at the weekend then Poch wouldn't have bottled the correct decision to leave him on the bench for this game.

Poch playing Son,. forced Alli out of his position causing the knock on effect of messing up his, Dier's and Kane's game.

Son's substitution at half time points clearly to this.

Lots of interesting reading here. However I think the non spurs fans and media will be saying the same old things about us. As these same old things continue to happen then those views become valid.

It felt a bit like accommodating too many players - Son after his good performance, wanting to bring Lamella back in and wanting to play Dele so shuffled the deck to the detriment of the team IMO.

If we can bring Dembele on at half time we can start him but otherwise would've stuck with Dier/Wanyama.

Dele is not only wasted in that CM 2 but also not suited to it IMO which weakens us.

A 4-3-3 would be interesting with the players at our disposal.

I think people are overreacting a bit due to the sheer expectations we had of the game. Monaco are a very good team and we basically outplayed them for a rough 85 minutes but a lack of concentration for a few minutes lost us the game. I think we were very fluid and actually played some of the best football so far this season but we weren't able to score as Kane seems to have completely forgotten how to put the ball in the net and both Son and Alli weren't calm enough at times.

I genuinely believe that we were overconfident after the Stoke game, just like last season and I think that is something Poch needs to adress as this was a result that could possibly impact the rest of our european campaign, negatively. I'm imagining that we won't see a sold out Wembley at the next game for instance.

Tbh the only thing I'm furious about is the lack of support from the fans at Wembley. Why the f*** were people leaving at the 85th minute and why weren't they singing more for the team? Bunch of spineless cowards. I remember watching Liverpool - Dortmund in the EL last season and despite Pool being something like three goals down, the crowd never stopped singing and eventually Pool pulled all the goals back and won the fixture on aggregate. Our fans should be ashamed of that complete lack of faith in our team.
I assume some might have gone to avoid the shit show i had of getting out of the area and not being stuck much like what happened to me. (i stayed right till the end, always do)

I can definitely understand that to some extent but at the same time it's sending very negative signals to the team when thousands of fans are leaving almost 10 minutes before the game is up.

15 minutes where I was... One family arrived on 30 mins, then left at 80... what was the point of that exactly?

the blindingly obvious lack of a lock picker in tight games costing us yet again

Chance creation really wasn't the problem last night, players missing chances that they'd have been scoring last season was. Kane had at least two chances he should (and would when on form) have put away, for a prime example. Son not finishing that great chance before Monaco had scored as well.

If anyone does stats, it would be interesting to see how many passes went astray. It seemed like an awful lot but that wouldn't apply to just last night's game.

Monaco's defence, pace and ability to take advantage of their chances better than us lost us the game although we were unlucky with some of those chances. We had double figures in corners which should have given us more scoring opportunities.

It's admirable that MoPo concentrates much effort on fitness but more tactical on the ball training with set pieces is obviously needed.

My dad said the exact same thing. Cursed it

it was so obvious, he come out with the comment, 20 seconds later Lamela gives the ball away sloppy, and typical a player we were linked with in the summer scores a good goal, though I don't think he scores that if it was Wimmer

And Rose wouldn't have been as half-hearted as Davies was with the attempted tackle either.

Can't even watch SSN and probably won't until after Sunday when hopefully we'll win. I'm not angry after yesterday like I can be after some defeats but just feel really down and disappointed over the result to be honest.

Went to the game last night and getting home omg what a palaver lol. Was at the game last night and honestly i think its time Kane got benched. From where i was sitting in Wembley stadium that miss from Kane was horrific. Just in from the game and am feeling well disappointed. I've got tickets for our two other games at wembley stadium but tbh the struggle getting home on a work night puts me off going !! Coys!

Was you at the game by any chance?

Yea and I also feel that he wanted to play the players that had played a major part in getting the club to the CL last season. Otherwise Wanyama would have probably started as he has done in all the other games. Start off solid then get more expansive in the second half if need be. Although Monaco didn't create too many shooting opportunities, they looked very dangerous on the counter and had a lot of space, Dier was getting pulled apart.
