Watched the game on tinternet, we were excellent. Lots of slick 1-2 touch passes and Son dribbled well, both to take on his man and to move us up the field. Jansenn was good, hold up play brilliant the only downside from me is that he looks for the defender rather than space sometimes. The last 20 mins were our worst period, we slipped down a gear thinking we'd won it. I think their goal hadn't been coming and was probably a foul on Sissoko in most games, also he (Sissoko) should have gone to met the ball rather than wait for it.

Overall, we're getting back to our best of last year and with rotation not giving us a detriment to our performance, or team spirit. This shows a big improvement squad wise from last year.

We need to take advantage of De Bruyne's hamstring injury and really sort City out next week. If we can take the three points we might knock their confidence a bit.

Complete straw man. The second half performance was atrocious. Stand that half alone and it's not good in any way, shape or form.

The potential for it to get hairy was there in the first half, but luckily they had no counter in them and we punished them hard for their impotence. Second half they got wise and put pace on that exploited the chink in our armour.

Far from wanting perfection I would have been happy with a solid second half display maintaining our 2 goal lead.
It wasn't atrocious. Middlesbrough created nothing apart from the goal. Did Traore's added pace actually do anything apart from excite the crowd a bit?

I understand that a lot of people are upset that we almost let them get something out of this result, but maybe we can take away a positive - that being that we didn't lose, and we got three points in a match that started to get away from us. Hopefully the coaching staff can use this game to improve the players and tactics. Better for that situation than for us to have actually lost.

What was so wrong tactically? We controlled the Match barring 15/20 mins in the 2nd half where they still created very little only scoring from a set piece
Yeah, but apart from the fact that we completely dominated, never really lost control at any stage and never really looked like conceding a second goal the game was AN UTTER DIABOLICAL TACTICAL MESS. Poch out?:D

Need to keep the shackles on Aguero like we did the last time. I always fear playing him, he's caused us major problems in the past.

So whose opinion is more credible? Yours because you listened the match or @thinktank who actually watched it. I know where my vote goes!

I watched it and we were very lucky not to draw it in the end. But should have been 4 up at half time. Had at least one stonewall penalty turned down. Alli missed a sitter. Anyone pretending we weren't rattled at the end is having a laugh tho but we were still well worth the win

Disagree on the lucky not to draw it. I am as pessimistic as they come and always waiting for the other shoe to drop with Spurs, but other than them possibly nicking another from a set piece it was very clear that we had them under complete control and no goal was going to come from open play.

Janssen can hold the ball up yes but he doesn't seek space. He seems abit static or maybe just doesn't have the agility and skill to turn or run the channels. An ok understudy to Kane if all you want/expect of him is to bring the AMs into play. I think he needs to do better.

Boro had 2 shots on target. Which I think were the goal, and Rhode's late header straight at Hugo from 8 or 10 yards out.

He will not set the world alight. I was very vocal that he was limited and paceless. He is here now and he has my full support, regardless of my opinions.

1. We are unbeaten so far
2. We have conceded the fewest goals
3. We are in second place
4. We haven`t conceded a single goal from open play this season
5. We won comfortably away from home

I`m fricking excited for the rest of this season, COYS!

I think today was a good example of fine margins.

On one hand, we can't rely on wonder goals to win us games, and I feel that without developing a much more clinical edge, or buying the creative players that we lack, we are going to have games like this where we lose, despite dominating.

On the other hand, if we rightfully get a penalty for the foul on Alli, and a foul is correctly called on Walker for the free kick for their goal I think, then it's 3-0 and a totally different story. Not to mention Alli's miss for a hypothetical 4-0.

I just think we need to create better chances more regularly, and then we will absolutely be a top team. We have too much dominance and not enough control over the result. A lot of our attacks break down with pot-shots and poor crosses. To me our defense looks amazing and is probably the best in the league. But I really don't see much guile or strategy in attack, which will hopefully come in time.

Happy with the result though.

And we only had 5 on target from 19 attempts but people think we should have had double figures so not sure what that means
