What was so wrong tactically? We controlled the Match barring 15/20 mins in the 2nd half where they still created very little only scoring from a set piece

Only because the lively fuckwit they put on couldn't pass the ball. We completely lost control of that game for the last 25 minutes, and that was plenty of time for them to skank something out of game we'd thoroughly dominated for he previous 65. Their ineptitude isn't an excuse for the malaise we got ourselves into.

Given that you didn't watch the game, for all you know then he could have had an absolute stinker (though I don't think he did), but yet you're suggesting he should be immune from anything other than positive comments. I don't understand that. Personally I think he'll be quality for us, but that he needs to be given time to sharpen up. He looked a bit cumbersome to me today despite showing potential and laying on first goal.
In my defence I did say "some" of the comments, referring to those that appear to have written him off already. Take a look on his own player thread. I just wish some fans would take into account his age, PL experience and 2 starts for Spurs.

This game had some of the worst officials I have seen in quite some time, one definite pen turned down, one possible turned down, numerous decisions given against us for no reason, 5 mins added time at the end? For what?

It was almost like the ref was their best player and towards the end it felt like he was almost willing the ball in our net, it's pathetic quite frankly, these games should feel fair and balanced, too many of these officials make the game about themselves or are just incapable of doing their job correctly.

What's funny is, whenever we play in europe the refs always feel fair and balanced, I rarely if ever have a complaint about them but in the prem it is a weekly issue.

Anyway, we played well, should have put the game to bed in the first half and I think Poch needs to keep reminding them to kill teams off, if we had got the third that second half would have been a breeze, we need to bury teams while we are on top.

Second in the league though ey lads and best league start in 53 years, that tells me this team is learning from last year. Fucking excellent if you ask me COYS.

I understand that a lot of people are upset that we almost let them get something out of this result, but maybe we can take away a positive - that being that we didn't lose, and we got three points in a match that started to get away from us. Hopefully the coaching staff can use this game to improve the players and tactics. Better for that situation than for us to have actually lost.

I think the reason people are getting upset is because in too many seasons previously we have capitulated or gotten away with a draw after looking a class above and not putting the opposition away, some people are worried that this current crop have got same lackadaisical approach to games we are ahead in, an unforgivable attitude that has bitten us hard on arse too often in the past and maybe, just maybe, we are at the point where scraping a win from a winning position is not quite acceptable any more (not that I'm saying that was the case today)

Oh fair enough, haven't seen those comments which I'm glad I haven't wasted my time reading

Not sure that is down to tactics?
How many teams dominate sides from start to finish in the premiership?
We were well on top for the 1st 65 mins then they made some attacking subs and went for it as they had nothing to lose.

I'm glad somebody brought that up, never mind the non penalty calls where in the fuck did he get 5 minutes stoppage time from when neither physio was called on to the pitch? Boro made 2 subs at the same time and we made 2 ourselves so where in gods name does he get 5 mins of added time from??

It's not just about dominating the ball constantly it's about what you do when your not.

Plenty of people, Mourinho, Klopp et al, have said it's difficult to control a PL game for 90 mins. Felt we thought we had it under control and were nearly surprised after they scored from their first shot. Best start for 51 years (think I heard that right) while obviously still gelling this season, I can cope with that.

Think we might be working our way into the season slowly as its a marathon and not a sprint.
Teams like Liverpool are on fire right now and i am intrigued to see if they can keep that level sustained over the long haul.
The best of us is yet to come i feel and so on that basis Im looking forward to us hitting top gear.

If we'd gone gung-ho with 5 minutes to go and got caught on the break, I'm fairly certain everyone, including you, would be talking about how teams that win the league aren't naive enough to try to force a third goal, when two will do.

Mourinho has won every league title playing the last 5/10 minutes of football matches in the manner we just did.

Ridiculous.
Such comments don't sit well with me. I prefer these well-known ones:
Audere est Facere

“It’s no use just winning, we’ve got to win well.”

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

The Klopp love in is hard to take sometimes
Give me the less animated modest Poch every time - time will show

I've skimmed through a few of the latter pages - plenty of whinging, which surprises me. Janssen is still getting to grips, but has already shown great ability to hold the ball up when tightly marked d feed the ball to a team mate - fantastic assist for Son's first! Secondly, we need to acknowledge we were missing Rose, Dembele, Dier and Kane from our strongest 11. Thirdly, we are second in the league having dealt with Dembele's suspension and various injuries. We should be celebrating, not whinging!

Just watching the mood highlights and Alli needs to spend extra time on the training ground working on his finishing. He misses so many simple chances!
