I love everything about the man - he has class and is respectful while you know he is capable of scaring the shit out of players if needed. He is meticulous in his preparation - has his own style he wants us to play and inspires his players to bigger and better things.

I'm struggling to think of a better manager we have had in my 30 odd years of supporting Spurs. We all had to suffer the likes of Christian Gross, Tim Sherwood, Ramos, Gerry Francis and Santini for this moment so enjoy it.

Does make me smile when I go back to beginning of this thread and some of the reasons people on here were against him being appointed:

-Has only managed mid table teams so is going to take us to mid table

-Jan and Lloris will leave because he isn't a big name

-He got lucky at Southampton who were going to do well regardless as they had good young players

-Appointed him shows Levy and the club have no ambition

-Sherwood is a better manager because we beat Saints twice when Poch was manager

-Never won much as a player or manager so he will be shit

Absolutely clueless, the lot of you :ROFLMAO:

Think it's a bit harsh to call 75% of our fanbase clueless to be fair. A lot of people had legitimate concerns, which have since been proved wrong in an emphatic way, and I believe that to a man, anyone who said any of the above will now admit they were wrong.

But that's why we're fans sitting here posting on a forum, not getting paid big money to run a football club.

Ah, yes. I replied to that in May, 2014...

Long live Pochettino

I think 75% is being kind, when in fact the true figure is much, much higher, and I'm happy to admit I include myself in this.

And him being a footballer might mean that he thinks it would be obvious to a football player that pressing in teams is the way to go, but his lack of tactical nous might stop him realising/implementing this.

It's just my thoughts that Tim hasn't explicitly done team pressing with our squad, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter why we aren't team pressing, it just matters that we aren't team pressing.
Remember these days?

I won't quite the guy as it was three years ago, but these were some of the lineups suggested when debating FDB V Poch:

--------------Lloris------------
Walker----Vlad----Jan----Rose
----------------------------------
-------Sandro--Paulinho--------
----------------------------------
Lamela----soldado---Eriksen

---------------Lloris-----------
Walker-----Vlad-----Jan-----Rose
------------------------------------
---------------Sandro------------
----Paulinho------------Eriksen---
-------------------------------------
Lamela------Soldado------Chadli

------------------Lloris-----------
Walker------Vlad------Jan-----Rose
------------------------------------
----------------Capoue------------
----Paulinho---------------Holtby---
-------------------------------------
Townsend------Adebayor-----Eriksen

Whichever one you pick, Poch has improved our squad, and improved those players who remain, immeasurably in a short space of time!

I remember being so excited by the potential midfield pairing of Capoue and Schneiderlin during Poch's first summer, when his system in preseason was built around the former and it looked like only a matter of time before we signed the latter.

I had a horrific nightmare last night - I feel the need to share it with you all and I promise you this is 100% true.

In my dream I met Poch and he wasn't very nice at all, in fact he was a total phoney - he left Spurs for 6 months to open a restaurant in Spain and I followed him there begging him to return to managing Spurs. He then was playing football manager and got a job offer from Manchester United to which he shouted 'YES!' as he pushed the 'accept job' button. I was outraged and hurt but it got even worse when he then gets a phone call from Utd offering him the real job which he accepted.

I was then transported to a room containing the mad dwarf himself, Daniel Levy who for some reason had an Ulster accent. Turns out he is a total phoney also and told me he also was leaving Spurs to become Director of Football at Hamburg.

I woke up in a state of total despair. Then I went to work.

Well, he didn't have much trouble bettering the first suggested line-up, that only had 10 players....
