Davies showing today why selling Rose would be criminal. Alli and Son need to make better choices in the final third but a special mention for Eriksen today for probably the single worst performance I've seen by a Spurs player for the past 5 years.

On a single day, Davies not as his best, but last season played in a team that secured second place. Who's your next victim for you to berate because all of your toys have been thrown out of your pram?

WTF. Calm down. People are just giving their opinions in a forum. No need to act as if its YOUR toys that have been thrown out of your pram.

It would certainly help if we had wing backs who would attack their full back marker's, all the opposition has to do is put one man on them thus keeping their shape and make them pass either sidewards or backwards albeit with the occassional cross.

Trippier and Davies are such a downgrade on Walker and Rose.
Which ever way you look at it we miss the pace on the flanks.

With Rose I agree but Trippier set up a few chances from his passes and he is a better passer than Walker. You can't run through brick wall. Not even Walker.
In a game when teams like WBA simply park all the players in front of goal speed of mind is more important than speed of feet.

.People suggesting Aurier or bemoaning the lack of Walker or Rose were talking nonsense. Like we didn't struggle against the bus parkers with those type of players too.

I don't think we struggled with them two too much last season !

OMG we concede, that happens. Football wouldn't have been football without teams conceding. Every single fudging goal isn't Lloris fault. If you are going to blame somebody, look at players who actually could have interfered with the attack. By the time it was down to Lloris, it was way too late.

Too many bandwagon fans, when we were struggling to stay in Premier League no one questions the keeper.

Them Fanboys would whore themselves to Degea at every opportunity. Go support Man U, F off

It is clear that some of our squad physically and mentally struggle to back up Wednesday > Saturday. Eriksen is taking a lot of stick but if we are honest he has had a particularly big fortnight with us and Denmark. His emotional joy at taking them to the World Cup finals would have left him short of adrenalin and energy backing up. The same this week, he did seem pretty flat in a game where we needed a midfield creator to unlock a stubborn WBA bus parked in their own half. We are missing that back up player who in other circumstances could have been Ross Barkley. One bright point in this struggling Spurs display was that Dembele, off the bench was excellent....going at them in a way we all know he can but rarely see. The weekend is not over...Arsenal travel to the cold harsh north so lets see what happens. Son clear MOM for me(y)

Sonny for me

The only one 1st half with any urgency

We were poor first half. Much better second half but by then West Brom had something to hang on to and only 45mins to hold out

An another day with a bit more luck and with a few with their shooting boots on we'd have scored 2 or 3 second half

West Brom defended really well got everyone behind the ball made it really difficult and blocked everything

Special mention for Moosa who did well for us and increased the tempo again

Looks like we’ll have to settle for just winning the CL this season

A point made here I completely agree with .

The press has disappeared . Spurs played counter attack this season with some success and we started praising Poch because we thought he was adding a new string to his bow , a 'Plan B' if you like . What no-one thought was that the old and v successful press was on its way out .
As BC points out , the press was a great way of getting goals out of bus-parkers . I remember seeing a running stat...was it Dortmund...and they outran us..Not used to this .
Can someone dredge up comparative running stats this season vs last plz ?

Son has deservedly got MoM here . 'Unproductive' said someone . With others in his part of the pitch so horribly off form
I think thats harsh , he was in sparkling form imo .

Poch doesnt have a plan b. Never has. And at this point, im not sure he ever will. If plan a doesnt work, we’re fucked.

I can't find it now, but I definitely read a study of Lloris, and his positioning and weakness to shots across him from exactly where Rondon scored from is real and consistent over years, which is frustrating

I've just been able to see the WBA goal again . Another question mark against Lloris imo .

Erikson did have a big fortnight but he only travelled to Scandinavia and Ireland hardly Alan whicker, and yet Sanchez I think played for Columbia a slightly longer journey I feel.
There are various excuses trotted about but in the main I think a lot of them believe in their own hype and have stopped putting the work and focus in.

When we were signing him, I can remember saying he's s decent keeper, but he's got some issues. I remember him letting in some softies at Lyon, and his distribution choices throughout his time with us have been really erratic. He nearly cost France automatic qualification with his errors in Sweden.

Exactly. And I think that goalkeeping looks so easy. When you watch it from the stands or on the telly, it looks like there is nothing to it. And you also see situations from other angles than the goalies, sometimes from an more accurate angle, sometimes from a wholly obscured angle. It's simply more complicated that what meets the eye, and judgments should be passed bearing that in mind. I'm not saying Lloris is a flawless goalie. But he hasn't been the culprit for weeks now, and he doesn't to many schoolboy mistakes that a bellend can spot from the stands or on the television.

Which ever way you look at it we miss the pace on the flanks.

The Davies that has already equaled Rose's goals and assists tally for last season, in less than half the time ? And Trippier pisses all over Walker offensively, which is what matters most the way play and the amount of bus parkers we face.

I don't think Davies was good yesterday, and I do think that defensively Rose (and Walker) are better, but I love the way Rose has suddenly become Marcelo to Spurs fans.

Rose's creative output has been fucking meagre for spurs. In 800 minutes of football this season, Davies has almost equaled the amount of chances Rose has created in 2100 and and 1530 minutes the previous two seasons. The same goes for key passes, goals and assists.

Offensively this season Davies has been better than Rose has been over the last two season, making more chances, more key passes, more assists:

Davies performance yesterday was no better or worse than many of Rose's over the last few years. Trippier's was a good deal better than many of Walker's performances against bus parkers. You remember the Walker who refused to cross it first time because he didn't trust his technique? Rarely ever used his speed to take on a FB and get past him?

Even playing for one of the best attacking teams this league has ever seen, with some of the best attacking players, in Guardiola's total football, Walker is still being out gunned by Trippier offensively, despite playing in a Spurs side where players like Kane, Eriksen and Alli are all out of sorts. And is still producing more than Walker did last year when we were the best team in the league bar one.
