Big Vic is a worry with his injury rec. It has been a long time since we have seen him fit and playing the way he can.I think he improved, but then he was our worst player first half. Would much rather see Big Vic in there though.
FWIW, the expected goal stats on 538 backup Jose's claim that they got their tactics rights, it was their execution that let them down. The expected goals from where the shots were taken and who took them was slightly in our favor, 1.6-1.7, and the non-shot expected goals was actually in their favor, 2.2-1.3. The difference was our greater degree of skill (and some luck). In addition to Lukaku missing the gimme from Rose, Fred couldn't get the curl to convert, Lingard had a deflection go just over the crossbar, Lloris made a nice save on a point-blank shot from Lukaku (and i'm probably forgetting some others). On the other hand, our first two goals certainly had a high degree of difficulty from where they were shot - Kane's header was from distance, Maura's goal and Eriksen's assist had to go through a bit of traffic to find their targets.
Of course, being a manager is not just about getting the tactics right, it is also about getting your players to execute to the top of their ability.
Because despite being involved in 2 goals he was in Shaw's pocket most of the matchTripps still can't get any love after being involved in 2 of the goals?
“Fucking shit” is very harsh. Was going to give him 6 but he hasn’t played much football recently and it wasn’t an easy game to come into as Man U came out the blocks fast and our whole defence was very shakey not just Rose in the first 25mins.
And with the ball I thought he was decent always looked forward and was very positive and he gradually improved throughout the game.
I thought dembele was excellent last night got back and often helped out in our box defending.Obviously it’s Moura, Toby deserves a big shout. He was excellent. So good having Jan and Toby together again. He needs a new contract ASAP.

personally thought Rose didnt have a good game, however he needs games to sharpen up, he looked rusty.
Toby was a rock better than a new signing, Lucas was a super star and we fought hard i dont think we gave away many chances except for the back pass.
Porto was over 14 years ago, different times, different players and different managerial competition and I think he was hungrier back then and during his first Chelsea stint anyway.
I think since then he has had jobs where he hasn't had to coach players as such, he's always bought in players who are either near or at their peak and his players have had the mentality of winners...his Chelsea and Inter teams were the perfect embodiment of him.
However this day and age I think players need to be nurtured and managed differently, there's not many captains and leuitenants playing especially compared to a decade ago for example so ultimately players rely on man management and encouragement which is something he doesn't excel at, and the fact that 3 of his direct rivals are know for excellant man manager skills and their coaching just exposes him even further.
Jose was once an excellant coach but his coaching methods in this day and age are just outdated.
A failed coup d’etat apparently. Or he got hoisted by his own petard. I don’t even know what the fuck anything means anymore anywayDoes anyone know whats happened to @Bus-Conductor? He seemed to have gone awol, serious question.

I agree. It didn't feel right somehow. I will deleteI don't think we are entitled to pick BC's post apart on here, when he has no right of reply.
Seems a bit mean, but I sort of started it.
Sorry.
