I honestly don’t see the difference in playing Thursday - Sunday to playing Wednesday - Saturday. It’s the same number of days between games.
It is yes, but quite often we will be playing Tuesday/Wednesday then Sunday. If it's Tuesday-Saturday it's an extra day, if it's Wednesday-Sunday it's an extra day. If it's Tuesday-Sunday it's an extra couple of days. There is only one combination of Wednesday-Saturday which is the same as Thursday-Sunday.

Playing on Sunday rather than Saturday, most of the time you'll be playing catch up to the rest of the teams. I think it's better, psychologically, to be playing before your rivals

I know what you mean, however you could say that if they didn’t have Henry and Vieira during their peak times then they wouldn’t have been half the side either.

Good players make teams better and that’s the whole point of football. They are just jealous because they don’t have a single world class player in their squad. Saka might be one day but isn’t yet.

Speaking of Saka

Fuck me, it's like we all get to choose who to support?!
Sums up so many fans of the so called "Big clubs". Glory hunters with no real idea of what it's like to be a proper fan and the link that gives us to the club.
We haven't 'chosen' to support Spurs, like most fans of these so called lesser teams, it's in our blood.

That sort of attitude really pisses me off. There are hundreds of clubs across this country, with proper loyal fans who have followed them through thick and thin, at whatever level.
Should they not enjoy a 91st minute winner because they haven't got a trophy for it?
Bollocks. Football snobbery at its w
Here in the states its often about being in the right clique just like high school. If is so much more impressive to see someone walk in with a bottom of the table premier team or a championship team then it is too all these folks jumping on the Man City boat, etc. When you ask them how they picked a team, the answers often so little substance behind them. More often than not, its a favorite player on one of the teams at the top and they struggle to tell you much about the culture or history of the club.

To be honest ive had more fun with Liverpool fans over the last 20 hours or so. The way they had hope then its just dragged away from them within five mins is a joy.

I know theyve won a whole heap more but its just so much fun seeing their hearts cry
And they were all convinced they would to the quadruple…..brilliant

We are allowed to celebrate right now, Leeds should celebrate, Man City should celebrate, Everton should celebrate. Football should be fun, fuck this "small time" bullshit.
This is what happens when you let the fans of other clubs get to you with all their belittling bullshit, you actually start relating to it, almost like a Stockholm syndrome thing going on.

If I (as a spurs fan) felt we shouldn't be celebrating snatching 4th in the last week of the season from that filthy lot, then I wouldn't fucking bother with any of it. What would be the fucking point.

Perhaps most importantly, it is a truth universally acknowledged that watching your team on Wednesday night is a vastly superior experience, while playing on Thursday is for teams who are deemed, through a range highly technical but accurate sporting analysis, to be “f***ing shite”… :sneaky:

That's the beauty of football.
If you can't enjoy the little victories, we may as well just call it a day and support the top couple of teams? Why even bother being a, say Sutton Utd fan if you can't enjoy a moment of glory in whatever way it presents itself.
Football should be about enjoying a moment, for the sake of that moment.
Also a lot of us started supporting Tottenham in the 90s when we lingered around 10-14th and had to sit through some really poor teams and managers - even then there were moments to enjoy. It was only when BMJ came in that I really knew what it was like for us to challenge and since then there has been ups and downs but I certainly celebrate a 4th place finish because I know how far we’ve come. I think we can push the top two next season, especially with how powerful our new stadium has become.

Think you got unnecessarily bombarded mate, I could tell that was sarcasm without any actual prejudice behind it. In these times though, as a general rule, I never write anything involving race sex or religion online that requires a level of sarcasm or tone to be funny...

It’s just far too easy for people to scan a sentence and take it at face value, because let’s be honest, there are a ton of racist, sexist, horrible dickheads saying awful things in earnest online.

While I don’t think you posted with any malicious intent it’s just not a chance worth taking imo. Many other ways to have a laugh anyways.

Yeah, you're right. I understand why people reacted like that, but I also think some people are too eager sometimes to see racism where there's none. Anyway, I will try to be a bit more careful with what I joke about in the future, so thanks for the advice.

You know over the years I've come to know you as being very level headed and remember the banter in the Lamela thread.

When I saw that post whilst not understanding it...... I knew there's something light hearted and you being ironic.... it flew over many people's heads as you not that way inclined. Happy you haven't been banned or were able to explain yourself.

haha, that old Lamela thread could get a bit crazy at times. Thanks mate, I appreciate it a lot, and since those days, I've found myself enjoying and agreeing with most of what you post.

You’re good, mate. Plenty of people got it.
And yet l didn't receive a single funny rating :cry::cry::cry:

I knew you were joking Ralvy because you already knew Asians invested the number zero
haha indeed, that's what I was going for! I seem to remember that the number zero was discovered independently by both the mayans and certain asian cultures (but I found out about the asians bit just a few years ago, since here in my country we're only taught about the mayans doing it, given that they are part of our history and culture).

Yes, it is society's fault you're not very funny.

haha, read again. I didn't blame society, I blamed myself. I know my jokes are usually just for a very niche group of people, comprising two of my brothers, my best friend and my girlfriend, and they probably only laugh in an attempt of being nice with me anyway.

I have to say I have never understood why anyone would tune in to watch alongs on YouTube but the reaction compilations of the NLD and Arsenal v Newcastle (both from the Arsenal fans) were a pure delight (although having to skip through certain people who are beyond annoying). People take football way too seriously, I’m all for enjoying the game but smashing your flatscreen on the loss of a game is a bit much - especially as that gooner is a northerner who really should have looked more local!

Brad Friedel was asked about this when he played for us in the Europa League and said the players don't care about playing after the other teams.

I just think it's a psychological thing. You're having to wait for all the glamour ties in the CL to be played before it's your turn. People are still talking about Real v Juve, or Bayern v Atletico from the night before when you kick off at 5.30 in Bulgaria. Sometimes you'd be getting home only a few hours before the PL press conferences start for the weekend. Everything just feels rushed.

And now it's even worse because the Europa and Conference are at the same time. Can't even tell straight away which competition you're watching.

It'll just be a miserable drag on the club (Ha).

It’s funny seeing the different reactions, the clowns calling it “rigged” and others saying how shit holding is and how it was a straight red. Not all their fans are morons.

The AFTV girl before the NLD who said they should meet at the emirates and March to Tottenham, it’s just pure gold. Even Robbie face like wtf are you talking about.
to be fair Spurs supporters used to do that back in the day meeting at The Bull at the High Cross and 'marching' down the Seven Sisters Road usually stopping for some entertainment around Finsbury Park
