I think we've only beaten them once at their place in the league over the last 20 seasons when we were under peak Poch.
So a betting man certainly wouldn't put money on us winning.

However, comparing our first games, with our respective form since Conte's been here I can see us getting a point.

Gonna be f’in hot next weekend. Will definitely affect the flow of the game; perhaps that pre-season match vs Roma was a touch of genius after all :cautious:

I bet this goes into Chelsea's "What our Opponents are saying" forum, and gets classified as Spurs fans being typically deluded after just 1 game.

Wont blame them, though.
if you're not (maybe overly!) optimistic even when times are good, then what's the point?!

It will be hard, this is Chelsea's cup final, for some reason it's the biggest game of the season for their fans and the one they'd most hate to lose.
We're capable of getting the result though.

I'd just like to see us score a goal against them, us having not managed that in the last six games between the clubs. I'm afraid I can't see anything other than yet another loss. Wish I could be more optimistic.

In the league they lost once to us at home in 2018 and last time before that was in 1990. A draw would be amazing results there.

I despise this lot more than any other team. I want is to humiliate them. Outplay them completely..... then my dream ended when I realized its Chelsea, Tuchel and last seasons results.

Anyhow.... I'm not filled with dread as i was last season.
Yeah but if you look at the team we had out against them, particularly in Jan, we have so many new players it’s unreal, as I’m pretty sure dier and Romero may have been out against them, Doherty played rm in a 4 4 2 in one of them, berg started one, tanganga started (and was awful). So if we have, dier, Romero, Benta, Kulu, son that’s at least 5 players to come him.
it’s the perfect time to play them, so if we want to do well this season this is the exact kind of game we have to take advantage of

I am going to this in the away season ticket end With clients, so have to not celebrate, but it would be nice to not sit through the dross I had to watch twice at their place in January

Nothing would tell me we’re the real deal now more than beating this lot at their ground. We’ve had a mental block when it comes to playing them (especially away) for so long. It needs to start with Conte actually believing we can beat them, and not picking 8 defenders, like he did when we went there last season. I think we’re better than them but I hope the players believe that too.

Can't you get better clients?

Hard to reconcile the confidence of many that we are closing the gap to the big two with the fear in this thread to date.

Just don't give them a head start with a set piece concession and then it's down to who takes their chances.

I'm not naming who I think our weak links are technically and more so mentally going away to this lot. But our best players have generally done F all in this fixture for years. Time to stand up.

Yeah...i don't have the feeling of trepidation that normally accompanies this fixture.... there's a confidence with how we've developed over the last few months. I last felt this way when we played them under Poch.... so let's see.

I feel quietly confident! (uh oh! ??)

We’re a much stronger side and better drilled now, than we were when we played them last season.

We’ll be up for this! ?

Whatever the outcome of this match is, it feels good this fixture is out of the way so early.
Agree. I also think they're less settled than we are, and are still (I would guess) regrouping after losing some pretty important defenders.

Who knows how it will play out, but probably not a bad time to play them
