Comfortable win in a game where we never needed to get out of second gear. I’ll take it tbh.

Depends how you look at it, with the exception of the Palace 2nd half we’ve been seriously lacking creativity and shot shy way too often this season. We had a chance to express ourselves today but it was a return being poor in the final third again. To compound matters we’ve got a massive game against Arsenal next weekend and whereas they’re in terrific form, we’re not. It’s one game we don’t want to lose under any circumstances.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

It was a comfortable win but we were dreadful in the final 3rd and that’s reflected in the stats, 18 attempts, 1 on target… and that’s against a League One side in poor form. That’s nowhere near good enough
It's not good enough, definitely but I've seen worse games.

Cup games are all about the result. Not too bothered about the performance. It's always tough when you have 11 men behind the ball the entire 1st half.

MotM Gil for me. Always looks to make things happen and has seemingly limitless energy. The kind of player that can get you off your seat. Did it for the whole game. Kane great goal.

Sarr was rough the first 10-15 mins but grew into it well after that.
Spence's confidence is shot to shit and it showed.
Agree... but at some point I would love for us to be able to rest Kane especially and the other stars for a game like that and still feel comfortable with our team... It's been like that for years now. Our "B-team" is awful.

Gil is getting better and better.
Looking more and more like a man of a player rather than a lightweight boy being bullied.

His footballing ability and intelligence was never in question really.

Eventually would like more end product but love watching him play and will only get better.

Well, we're in the hat for the next round, not going to read too much into the performance, we're all more than aware of our deficiencies and what we think we need to rectify.

Comfortable enough win, if not exhilarating.

Confidence is a hell of a drug.

(but it seems he is taking confidence away from Sess, who looks like he is regressing. )
I think Sessegnon needs a PL loan next season, either that or get rid if we can get most of our money back and another homegrown player.
