Looking more and more like a man of a player rather than a lightweight boy being bullied.

His footballing ability and intelligence was never in question really.

Eventually would like more end product but love watching him play and will only get better.
Son is the one who needs some time on the bench. He has been woeful this season, and he needs to sort himself out.

I think Sessegnon needs a PL loan next season, either that or get rid if we can get most of our money back and another homegrown player.

I think this will be an issue.
Plenty of our fans seem to want our home grown players gone.

Not sure who will replace them.
We only have Harvey White coming through that might need to be registered next season.

The problem is we play 2 big teams next ....and we've been in 2nd gear since preseason. Every week different excuses are brought forward.
We played a 2nd string team, excepting Kane and Son, against a team that stayed deep and organized.

What exactly were you expecting?

To be fair today's excuse is that 8 of those players wouldn't ordinarily be starters.
On the up side in the next two games those big clubs won't be sitting back defending with 10 men.

Whilst we've improved the squad the fixture list has also intensified massively so no surprise we have treaded water. It seems obvious our run last season was to do with a clear fixture list and our first XI and quality players being fresh every game. This season we've needed more depth and the job has only been half done on the transfer front. It is evident that we are 4/5 players short of a complete team and with Paratici i'd be confident with every signing we'll improve that little bit.

I definitely think Gil’s worth a place in the first team squad now. Keep him in place of Moura.

The guy is playing with a bloody mask on mate and can barely see, lay off him. Sort himself out my arse, he’s trying his best.
Sorry I beg to differ. If he can't see, then he should not play. There are other young players who are trying to get into the team and there is no reason for you to get aggressive here.

It's why Zaha would be a priority target for me on a free transfer. Perfect Lucas replacement.

Definitely keep him until the end of the season imo. Then see what competitions we end up in next season. But if it were down to me i'd bring in a RW this window, and land Zaha on a free in the summer with Gil joining a PL side on loan.

If he cannot see then he should either remove the mask or not play at all. It's a poor excuse anyway, plenty of players have worn such masks and played perfectly fine, Kane amongst others.

@fishhhandaricecake A dislike rating for stating the bloody obvious? Sort yourself out mate haha

Most disappointing thing was with 9 squad players not one makes you think they could start. Gil did well but still doesn't threaten to start just yet. Skipp and Sarr are promising but neither would threaten ahead of Bissouma, Bentancur or Hojbjerg. A lot of players out but not enough quality sprinkled across the team to help those promising youngsters. If you have a few more players who are good enough to start it would have made a lot of difference. In the end Kane carried us again and we got the job done.

It’s like some of you have never seen Son play. His strength is not against teams that sit deep. Son has never done well trying to move in tight spaces.

He needs room to operate. I would take nothing from the game today in terms of his form.
